Following the Chubby Chipmunk event, Roblox’s *Grow a Garden* launched its Halloween event, originally named Ghoul Garden. This seasonal update allows players to collect spooky creatures, plants, and cosmetic items.
The Halloween event in Grow a Garden includes fun additions like the Witch’s Cauldron, Halloween Market, and Jack-o-Lanterns, but understanding everything can be confusing. This guide explains how to finish the event and details the new items and mutations available this week.
How to Play the Halloween Event in Grow a Garden
Halloween is a special event in the Roblox game *Grow a Garden*. It first took place from October 11th to October 18th, and a second part is coming soon with some new items. The way the event works will stay the same.
As soon as you enter the event, you’ll see a spooky witch next to her cauldron. If you talk to her, she’ll explain she’s making potions and needs your help! She’s heard you’re a skilled gardener and wants to use your plants to improve her brews.
To assist her, just collect any fruits you find in your garden. When you’ve gathered a lot, select the “Submit All Fruit” button to put them in the pot. Adding more fruit will make the cauldron fill up faster.
Because this is a collaborative effort, all players on the server can work together towards a common objective. Players also have the option to instantly increase the reward amount by spending 99 Robux.
Once the cauldron is full, you’ll get 10 to 20 Candy Corn, depending on how much you contributed. Candy Corn is the special currency for this event, and you’ll need it to buy exclusive Halloween items in the shop, so it’s worth saving! You might also receive a Spooky Egg or Pumpkin Crate. Top contributors could even get two of those rewards! Plus, the witch might create some spooky weather as an extra bonus.
The witch is also looking for a strange Goblin creature that players haven’t quite understood yet.
What is the Jack-o-Lantern for in Grow a Garden?
Okay, so there’s this cool Jack-o-Lantern guy that pops up on the right side of the map every couple of hours. He’s only there for about ten minutes, though. The thing is, he *only* cares if you show him Halloween-themed plants or fruits – and they have to have those special Halloween mutations, too. Otherwise, he totally ignores you!
In Roblox Grow a Garden, Halloween plants include:
- Bloodred Mushroom
- Jack-O-Lantern
- Ghoul Root
- Chicken Feed
- Seer Vine
- Poison Apple
- Great Pumpkin
- Banesberry
You can find some of these items at the Halloween Market’s seed shop, Sam’s Seed Shop, or by interacting with the Bone Dog. The available Halloween mutations are Spooky, Ghostly, and Vamp.

The Jack-o’-Lantern will take any of the specified plants or fruits that have one of the required mutations. As a reward, it gives you Candy Corn, Spooky Eggs, or Pumpkin Crates. However, occasionally it just frightens you without giving anything at all.
The number of Candy Corn you receive from the Jack-o’-Lantern is based on how rare the Halloween plant or mutated fruit you offer is. The rarest plants – Prismatic and Transcendent – give you the most points. Plus, if your fruit has a silver, gold, or rainbow coloring, you’ll earn even more points and event currency.
Grow a Garden Halloween Market Items

The Halloween Market is a special shop that appears only on Halloween Night. This spooky weather event happens automatically every 45 minutes, and sometimes the witch can make it happen too! At the market, you’ll find various shopkeepers selling Halloween pets, seeds for planting, and decorations.

All Halloween Mutations in Grow a Garden

The 1.27.0 update to *Roblox Grow a Garden* added three unique Halloween mutations to the game. You’ll need these mutations on your crops to trade them to the Jack-o’-Lantern character for rewards like Candy Corn. Here’s a simple guide on how to get these mutations to appear on your fruits.
Halloween Mutations | Multiplier | How to Get It? |
---|---|---|
Vamp | 3x | The Vamp mutation is applied during the Bat Attack weather, which spawns naturally throughout the Halloween event. So, just wait for it to show up. |
Spooky | 8x | The Spooky mutation makes ghosts appear from the plant. It’s applied using the Ghost Bear pet, which can be picked up from the Creepy Critters Shop. |
Ghostly | 30x | The Ghostly mutation can be forced on plants through the Great Pumpkin, the first seed with a passive mutation ability. You can buy it for 15,000,000,000 Sheckles or 1,999 Robux from Sam’s Seed Shop. |
