Great news for Black Myth: Wukong players! A new update is coming with bug fixes and improvements to how the game runs.
Okay, so I just saw the file size, and wow, it’s HUGE! Seriously, it’s bigger than even Battlefield 6 – we’re talking 93.5 GB on the PS5! That’s a lot to download.
Black Myth explained on their social media that this issue is happening because of how the game stores its files.
Large game file sizes have been a recurring issue, particularly with recent Call of Duty releases. Last year, a false rumor claimed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 would need 300 GB of storage. While untrue, the concern over increasingly large installations led to an update (01.080.000) that reduced Call of Duty’s storage footprint by 100 GB. It’s ironic, then, that the latest update for Black Myth: Wukong now requires roughly the same amount of space – 100 GB.
Good news for Black Myth: Wukong players! The latest update will actually *reduce* the game’s file size, as it replaces existing files with smaller ones. If you’re having trouble downloading the update, you can also delete the game and reinstall it to get the latest version.
It’s puzzling why we don’t already have a better solution. In 2025, it’s really frustrating to constantly have to delete games just to free up space for updates.
The Newest Update For Black Myth: Wukong Improves Performance On PS5 And PC
Everyone’s been discussing the PlayStation 5 update for Black Myth: Wukong, but the PC version is also receiving improvements to help it run better.
We’re adding AMD FSR4 to the game! After you update your graphics drivers and turn on FSR4 within your driver settings (if your hardware supports it), you’ll be able to enable it in the game’s settings. We’ve also improved Compatible Mode to help prevent crashes and ensure the game launches smoothly.
Okay, so I’ve been playing on PS5, and Game Science really stepped up their game. Loading times are way faster now, everything looks crisper with the improved textures, and they’ve tweaked Performance Mode to run even smoother. It’s a noticeable upgrade!
This update brings performance improvements across the board – you’ll notice faster speeds, better use of your computer’s memory, and more realistic motion blur. Currently, these improvements are only confirmed for PC and PlayStation 5; Xbox users will need to wait for a future update.
