Solo Leveling: Chungong Has Officially Confirmed Who’s Stronger Between Jinwoo and Thomas Andre

Solo Leveling has quickly become popular thanks to its exciting and fast-paced action. It’s raised the bar for other anime, and now they’ll have to compete with its quality. Because the main character is incredibly powerful with seemingly endless potential, the supporting characters also need to be strong to provide a real challenge.

Thomas Andre is often compared to Sung Jinwoo as a potential rival. As a highly ranked National Level Hunter, Thomas Andre is incredibly powerful, leading many to believe he’s a worthy opponent for Jinwoo. However, it’s still debated whether he truly surpasses Sung Jinwoo in strength.

Thomas Andre Could Easily Beat Jeju Island Jinwoo

The second season of Solo Leveling concluded with Sung Jinwoo successfully defeating the giant ant monsters and their King and Queen on Jeju Island. The Ant King was incredibly powerful, wiping out nearly all of a team of top-ranked (S-level) Hunters from Japan. Jinwoo’s timely arrival saved the Korean Hunters from the same disaster. After the battle, Jinwoo established himself as the strongest Hunter in Korea, though he still wasn’t strong enough to defeat a Hunter at the national level, like Thomas Andre.

Thomas Andre achieved national recognition by defeating Kamish, widely considered the most powerful monster ever encountered. He collaborated with fellow Hunters to overcome Kamish in a challenging battle. This victory not only gave Thomas Andre crucial experience but also made him a global sensation.

Thomas Andre is noticeably stronger than Sung Jinwoo in most areas – he has more stamina, is faster, and possesses greater strength. He can also protect himself with armor, making him even more durable. If they had fought right after the second season of Solo Leveling, Thomas Andre would have lost badly.

Sung Jinwoo Beats Thomas Andre Later In The Series

Sung Jinwoo Surpasses All Monarchs And Rulers

Sung Jinwoo’s fight with Thomas Andre happens much later in the story, during the International Guild Conference Arc. After Jinwoo defeated Hwang Dongsoo, Thomas Andre intervened, leading to an intense battle. Jinwoo ultimately won, decisively defeating Thomas Andre and sending the National Level Hunter to the hospital for a day. By that point, Sung Jinwoo was far stronger than any National Level Hunter and could easily defeat them all.

In the third season, Sung Jinwoo will become even stronger when he returns to the Cartenon Temple – the very place where he first received his abilities. There, he encounters Kandiaru, the creator of the System, who offers Jinwoo a chance to understand it better. However, Jinwoo must first pass a test to gain this knowledge.

Having defeated all the statues, Jinwoo faced the Architect in a challenging battle. He had a tough start, but eventually figured out how to gain the upper hand. After defeating Kandiaru, Jinwoo fell into a trance, leading Kandiaru to believe the Shadow Monarch would possess him. Instead, the Shadow Monarch gifted Jinwoo the Black Heart, significantly increasing his powers. With this boost, Jinwoo quickly and easily defeated Kandiaru in under a minute.

In the third season, Sung Jinwoo will not only gain more power, but also encounter new obstacles. A long-awaited reunion with his father, Sung Il-Hwan, is possible, which would be a very emotional moment for Jinwoo, as they haven’t seen each other in years. Additionally, the season may see the development of a romantic relationship between Jinwoo and Cha Hae-in, who has harbored feelings for him but hasn’t yet been able to share them.
