Reviews for The Outer Worlds 2 will be released soon, letting you see what critics and content creators think of the game before it comes out.
As a huge RPG fan, I’m seriously hyped for this sequel! It’s easily one of my most anticipated games of 2025. I can’t wait to dive back into that galaxy – it’s full of interesting, messed-up characters and just feels wonderfully chaotic.
Here is when you can expect The Outer Worlds 2 review embargo to lift.
The Outer Worlds 2 Review Embargo Date, Explained
The Outer Worlds 2 review embargo is set for October 23 at 9 AM ET.
Okay, so if you’re on the East Coast, around 9 AM is when all the game review sites and YouTubers are going to start posting their thoughts. If you’re wondering if your favorite reviewer is covering it, definitely check their Twitter or whatever – a bunch of them have already said they’re playing and working on reviews right now!
The Outer Worlds 2 Review Scores Prediction
Since The Outer Worlds 2 is a direct sequel that builds on the original, it’s likely to receive a similar review score – probably between 83 and 87. This range seems fitting for a game of this type.
The original Outer Worlds received a solid 85 on MetaCritic, but the remastered version, Spacer’s Choice, only scored 72 due to performance problems and a lack of significant improvements. Unless the next game is riddled with bugs, it’s likely to be well-received by critics.
If you’re really excited about The Outer Worlds 2 and hoping it’ll be your favorite game of 2025, a score of 85 might not seem high enough. While we haven’t played it yet, that’s still a strong score for any new game, especially a role-playing game. Just be aware that if you’re expecting it to compete with the very best games this year – those scoring in the 90s – it might not quite reach that level.
Obsidian Entertainment is a very talented game studio with a history of making good games, but they haven’t often achieved exceptionally high review scores – the exception being their surprise hit, Pentiment. While anything is possible, it’s unlikely their next game will receive a score of 90 or higher on MetaCritic.
I’m so hyped for The Outer Worlds 2! I’ve been checking out the full list of trophies and achievements to get a head start on planning how I’ll tackle everything. Plus, I found a handy guide on how to preload the game so I’m ready to go as soon as it’s released!
