Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Next Expansion Has Been Leaked

A new expansion for *Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket* has potentially been revealed by a trusted source, and it appears to focus on Mega Evolution Pokemon. With the game nearing its one-year anniversary, the development teams at Creatures Inc. and DeNA are already planning significant updates for its second year.

When *Pokemon TCG Pocket* launched on October 30, 2024, it featured 286 collectible cards for building battle teams, based on the rules of the *Pokemon Trading Card Game*. As the game nears its one-year anniversary, the number of available cards has grown significantly, reaching nearly 1,700 – more than five and a half times the original amount.

Next Pokemon TCG Pocket Expansion Reportedly Called Mega Rising

As the game heads into its second year, a trusted source of *Pokémon* leaks, CentroLeaks, has revealed the next expansion will be called Mega Rising. CentroLeaks shared images on Twitter showing three different packs with Japanese writing and artwork featuring Mega Blaziken, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Altaria. This suggests the new set, similar to Genetic Apex, will be split into three separate packs – something that hasn’t happened since the game launched.

Although the development team hasn’t officially announced the card names, featured Pokemon, or how many cards will be in each pack, it’s been known for almost two months that Mega Evolution cards are coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket. The official announcement at the 2025 Pokemon World Championships in August confirmed the addition of Mega Evolution to the mobile game and previewed three cards—which happen to match the Mega Evolution Pokemon shown in recently leaked pack art.

The newest expansion will launch on October 29th or 30th, depending on where you are in the world. It follows the limited-time Deluxe EX Pack for *Pokemon TCG Pocket*, which was only available for 30 days. Unlike typical expansions, this pack served as a conclusion to the A1 collection, featuring alternate versions of cards released during the game’s first year, but no entirely new cards with different effects. This is the first time an expansion has had a set end date.
