Although the *My Hero Academia* manga has finished, the story remains popular with fans. The anime is currently adapting the final parts of the story, meaning there’s still more *My Hero Academia* content coming before the series concludes for its audience.
Since finishing the *My Hero Academia* manga, creator Kohei Horikoshi has been consistently sharing fantastic artwork of beloved characters. He’s recently released a new illustration to commemorate the winners of the *My Hero Academia* ‘WORLD BEST HERO’ Popularity Poll, and the results may be unexpected for some fans.
The New Top 3 Has A Surprising Twist
Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto were the most popular characters in a recent fan poll, receiving a total of over 3.4 million votes worldwide. While it’s no surprise these three topped the list, the exact order might be! Shoto finished third with 630,398 votes. Many fans predicted Bakugo would be second, but Deku actually took that spot with 1,217,357 votes. This means Bakugo ultimately won with an impressive 1,647,611 votes.
Both Bakugo and Deku received over a million votes, but Bakugo significantly outperformed everyone else, earning 1.2 million votes compared to Deku’s. While Deku remains popular, Bakugo’s character development, particularly in the final part of the story, seemed to connect more strongly with fans. The rest of the top ten largely followed predictions, though a few unexpected characters made the list, and some others were left out.
The most unexpected result of the fan poll was All Might not making the top 10. While he’s still a very popular character from *My Hero Academia*, his importance decreased as the story progressed, likely impacting his ranking. He still did well, placing 12th overall with over 107,000 votes! On the other hand, Neito Monoma’s appearance in the top 10 was a pleasant surprise, as his poll results matched his rising popularity within the series itself.
Here’s what the full top 10 looks like:
1st | Katsuki Bakugo | 1,647,611 votes |
2nd | Izuku Midoriya | 1,217,357 votes |
3rd | Shoto Todoroki | 630,398 votes |
4th | Shota Aizawa | 259,715 votes |
5th | Eijiro Kirishima | 247,533 votes |
6th | Endeavor | 215,126 votes |
7th | Hawks | 210,285 votes |
8th | Dabi | 190,934 votes |
9th | Tomura Shigaraki | 159,036 votes |
10th | Neito Monoma | 128,021 votes |
Several popular characters narrowly missed making the top 10. Ochaco finished 11th, just behind Monoma by a small margin of votes. Toga, Kaminari, and Shinso completed the top 15. Other favorites like Tsuyu, Mirko, Mirio, and Ida all received a good number of votes, and even Mineta, despite being controversial, placed within the top 50.
