Dragon Ball Fans Should Circle January 25 on Their Calendars

Fans of Goku and the Dragon Ball universe have a new game to look forward to! It’s scheduled to be revealed at an event in January 2026. While there are already many Dragon Ball games available on consoles, computers, and phones that are constantly being updated, it seems another one is on the way.

As a huge Dragon Ball fan, I was so excited when *Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero* came out in October 2024! It brought back the classic *Budokai Tenkaichi* fighting style, which I absolutely loved back in the early 2000s, and it feels like a really fresh take. But honestly, there’s so much Dragon Ball to play right now! *Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2* and the action RPG *Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot* are still getting updates – I actually saw news about them just the other day! And Bandai Namco has a ton of Dragon Ball mobile games too, like *Dragon Ball Legends*, *Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra*, and *Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle*. There’s something for everyone!

New Dragon Ball Game to Be Announced on January 25, 2026

Okay, so there are *tons* of Dragon Ball games out there already, but it looks like we’re getting another one! I just saw that a Dragon Ball Genki Dama Festival is happening near Tokyo on January 25, 2026, and the event schedule specifically mentions a “New game super announcement.” Gamepressure spotted it too. They’re also having a separate update reveal for *Dokkan Battle*, which makes it pretty clear this new announcement isn’t just an update for an existing game – it’s a whole *new* Dragon Ball game! I’m super hyped to see what it is.

Details about the next *Dragon Ball* game are scarce, but fans are already speculating. With *Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2* recently receiving *Dragon Ball Daima* content and approaching its ninth anniversary, many are hoping for a new installment in that series. Others would like to see a sequel to the 2D fighter *Dragon Ball FighterZ*, and some have even suggested a remake or continuation of the PlayStation 3 game *Dragon Ball: Raging Blast*.

Some Dragon Ball fans are still hoping for a new game in the *Budokai Tenkaichi* series. While *Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero* recently added more characters – bringing the total to over 200 – there’s been no announcement about a second season of downloadable content. Lately, there’s been some concern online, particularly on platforms like Reddit, that the game might not receive much further support.
