The Halloween event is now happening in Grow a Garden! Part 1 introduced fun pets like the Headless Horseman and Bone Dog, and valuable seeds like the Poison Apple. Part 2 launched on October 18th and will be available until October 25th.
In addition to gathering Candy Corn from the Witch’s Cauldron and the Halloween Market, players can complete a task by speaking to the Dead Tree and participate in the new Grave Digging minigame for extra rewards. Here’s a guide on how to play the Grave Digger event, get bonus Digs, and use the Dig Trinket in Grow a Garden.
Grow a Garden Grave Digging Minigame, Explained
After the 1.28.0 update in Roblox’s *Grow a Garden*, a Dead Tree will appear every 8 hours where the Witch’s Brew used to be. The Witch will still be available most of the time to help you collect Candy Corn. You’ll also see the Gravedigger appear every 2 hours, taking the place of the Jack-o-Lantern.
Meet Doug Graves, an NPC who invites you to play a unique minigame: digging through a huge tomb to find treasure! You can unearth valuable seeds like Zombie Fruit, Wisp Flower, and Mummy’s Hand, as well as creatures like Goblins, Hex Serpents, and Crows – and lots of other interesting items.
How to Get More Digs in Grow a Garden

Okay, so in the minigame, if you want to dig, you just click on any of those grave blocks you see. Just be aware that each click uses up one of your ten digs, even if there’s nothing actually hidden under that block!
Once you’ve used all 10 shovels, you’ll need more event currency to continue playing. In the Grow a Garden event, there are three ways to earn these shovels:
- Wait 5 minutes for a free refill (gives 1 dig)
- Use a Dig Trinket (gives 1 dig)
- Spend 59 Robux (restores all 10 digs)
How to Get and Use Dig Trinket in Grow a Garden
Okay, so the Dig Trinket is super rare – it’s a mythical item! You can only get it from the Halloween Gear Box. You can either buy that box at the Ghostly Gadgets shop in the Halloween Market for 30 Candy Corns, or you might get lucky and win it as a reward from the Gravedigger! It’s a bit of a grind, but totally worth it if you want a really cool, rare item.
The Halloween Market appears frequently – about every 45 minutes – and usually has the Halloween Gear Box available in its shop. It’s a good idea to have some Candy Corn handy to quickly buy it. You can also sometimes find it as a digging reward, with around an 11.63% chance.

When you open a Halloween Gear Box, you have a roughly 24% chance of getting a Dig Trinket. It’s the second-most common item you can receive.
In Grow a Garden, equipping a Dig Trinket lets you instantly perform one extra dig by simply clicking on the screen. You can use multiple trinkets at once to extend the Grave Digger minigame. Each tomb contains about seven treasures, and after collecting them all, you can restart the minigame for 1 trillion Sheckles. Using extra digs from your trinkets will help you collect even more rewards during the Halloween Part 2 event.
