He doesn’t know if Square Enix will ever resume work on the project, suggesting the remake is currently stalled and its future is uncertain.
Early this year, excitement built around a potential remake of Final Fantasy 9, sparked by a new website celebrating the game’s 25th anniversary. Square Enix added to the buzz by sharing a quote from the original game’s ending. Unfortunately, recent news suggests the remake may not happen after all.
