Starfield’s PS5 Port Will Not Be Announced This Year, It’s Claimed

According to a trusted source, we likely won’t hear about a PlayStation 5 version of Starfield until 2026.

Ever since some Xbox games started appearing on PlayStation, players have been hoping to see Starfield on PS5. Rumors suggested a release in 2026, and now there’s talk of it also coming to the new Switch 2. However, it doesn’t look like any official announcements about either port will happen this year.

Starfield’s PS5 Port Will be Announced in 2026

When asked about a possible PlayStation 5 release of Starfield on X (formerly Twitter), insider NateTheHate suggested an announcement is now likely to happen in 2026, unless plans shift. He’d previously indicated an announcement was expected in 2025, after confirming the game would eventually come to PS5. It now appears that announcement has been delayed until sometime next year.

When questioned about it, Phil Spencer explained that he wouldn’t exclude any game from appearing on platforms where it could reach players and be commercially successful for them.
