Both Ninja Gaiden 4 and Evil West are now available to play with Xbox Game Pass. They are the 57th and 58th games added to the PC and Ultimate tiers this October, and Evil West was released on the service slightly ahead of schedule.
From the start, Team Ninja and PlatinumGames announced that Ninja Gaiden 4 would be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day in January 2025. Xbox Game Studios is publishing the newest game in this challenging action series, which was scheduled for release on October 21st.
Ninja Gaiden 4 Lands on Xbox Game Pass as Planned, Evil West Is Here Early
Okay, so like a lot of big game releases, Ninja Gaiden 4 showed up in the US a few hours early – around 5pm PDT / 8pm EDT on October 20th. That’s when it hit Xbox Game Pass for those of us who subscribe. But the weird part? Evil West, that sci-fi western game, dropped on Game Pass at the same time! Usually, games that aren’t available on day one get added between midnight and 11am EDT, and Evil West was originally slated for October 21st. Honestly, it was already October 21st in a lot of places when it came out, so it wasn’t super early, but still a surprise!
When Will Ninja Gaiden 4 Come to Xbox Game Pass Premium?
When it first launched, Ninja Gaiden 4 was only available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Those with the higher-tier XGP Premium (formerly XGP Standard) can expect it to be added to their subscription library by October 2026, according to Microsoft. However, based on how quickly games were added to the older XGP Standard, Ninja Gaiden 4 might be available as early as April 2026.
Okay, so Evil West showed up on Game Pass a little sooner than anyone expected, which is cool! But what’s really weird is it was only gone for about seven months. It joined back in March 2024, dipped out in mid-March 2025, and now it’s back! That’s a super quick turnaround, honestly. It probably means a lot of people were playing it when it was first added, convincing Microsoft and the publisher, Focus Entertainment, to bring it back quickly. Or, maybe they’re just trying to get us all hyped for Halloween with a bunch of spooky games – and Evil West definitely fits the bill!

Microsoft is adding three more games to its subscription service before the end of October 2025. Both Bounty Star and PowerWash Simulator 2 will be available on October 23rd, followed by The Outer Worlds 2 from Obsidian on October 29th. Plus, we should hear about the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month later this week, likely around October 21st.
