Electronic Arts is ending support for The Sims Mobile after seven years. The game will no longer be playable starting January 20, 2026, as it requires an online connection to function.
The team announced a series of special, limited-time events over the next few weeks to celebrate the game’s ending. Today, October 21st, The Sims Mobile will no longer be available to download from app stores.
The Sims Mobile is the Latest EA Game to Go
Over the past few years, Electronic Arts has been shutting down online servers and discontinuing several of its games. Recently, The Sims Mobile joined that list.
I was so excited when The Sims Mobile came out in March 2018! It quickly became super popular – by September, Electronic Arts announced it already had nearly 50 million players and had made over $20 million. It was amazing to see how fast it grew!
In a recent blog post, the team at Electronic Arts confirmed:
On October 20th, the last update for The Sims Mobile will be released on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After that date, you won’t be able to buy any new packs or make purchases with real money in the game. However, any SimCash, Simoleons, or Tickets you already have will still work until January 20, 2026.
On October 20th, 2025, we’re releasing a final update that will give everyone unlimited energy. This will help you finish up any projects and fully enjoy the remaining months of the game.
A series of special events will happen before the game is no longer available.

So, I was reading the FAQs about The Sims Mobile shutting down, and it looks like we’re not getting any of our SimCash or Simoleons back. Basically, if you’ve spent any real money on the game and still have cash left over, now’s the time to use it up! It’s a bummer, but at least we can try to get some enjoyment out of it before the game goes offline.
