The powerful legendary Pokémon from the Kalos region are back in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but catching them—including Yveltal—will take time and effort.

How to Catch Yveltal in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
You can only catch Yveltal after finishing the main story in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It’s part of the post-game content and requires completing a special mission.
Once you’ve finished the Infinite Z-A Royale and returned to Hotel Z to connect with your team, L reappears with news: the two Legendary Pokémon of the Kalos region are heading to Lumiose City. This unlocks a new mission, ‘The One That Takes,’ which begins by talking to Grisham at the Nouveau Cafe.
He’ll go with you to Quasartico Inc. where you’ll meet Vinnie. He’ll explain a new machine they’ve created that lets you practice battling in realistic simulations against powerful Rogue Mega Evolution Pokémon. To test it, you’ll need to defeat Mega Victreebell, Mega Hawlucha, and Mega Tyranitar.
Once all three are defeated, the second and final stage of the mission is unlocked.
Yveltal Location in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Yveltal is perched on the dome of Galerie de la Lune, a shopping center located in the north of the city.
Head up to the roof and climb the dome to reach the spot where Yveltal appears. Once you interact with Yveltal, the battle will begin! Yveltal is a Dark and Flying type Pokémon, so it’s weak against Fairy, Electric, and Ice attacks – these will be super effective in defeating it.
Similar to Xernas, you need to catch Yveltal to finish the quest. If you don’t, you’ll have to fight it again. Bring plenty of Ultra Balls – usually just one is all you need to catch it.
