What Is Pax Armata In Battlefield 6?

Pax Armata, meaning ‘armed peace,’ is a made-up private military company featured in the Battlefield games. Its soldiers are mercenaries recruited from around the globe, and the company receives funding and equipment from various nations.

The group appears to be led by Alexander Kincaid, a former British SAS soldier, but it’s later discovered that CIA operative Melissa Mills was actually behind its creation, or at least knew about it. Future games might also reveal that Kincaid isn’t the true leader, but Henry Blackburn, a character from past Battlefield games, who felt betrayed and started his own weapons company as a result.

Chronological Order Of Events In Battlefield 6’s Campaign

The story in Battlefield 6 doesn’t unfold in a straightforward order. It frequently jumps between the main action and scenes set in the present day, where the Dagger 1-3 team is questioning CIA operative Melissa Mills. This can make the timeline a bit difficult to follow.

All missions after the first one are therefore seen as flashbacks.

17th September 2027 – NATO’s Base In Georgia Is Attacked & NATO’s Secretary General Is Assassinated

Mission: Always Faithful

The single-player campaign in Battlefield 6 begins in the country of Georgia, where US troops are prepared to transfer a NATO base and the responsibility for defending the nation to a group called Pax Armata. However, Pax Armata launches an attack on the base, seemingly to steal sensitive NATO data before it can be removed.

Dylan Murphy, the main character, and his team must decide what to do with some important data. Ultimately, they realize destroying it is the only solution.

Just a few days after the assassination of the NATO Secretary General – an act claimed by Pax Armata – twelve countries left NATO and began supporting Pax Armata instead. This decision sparked a worldwide conflict.

20th March 2028 – NATO Retake Gibraltar

Missions: The Rock & Operation Gladius

After about six months of fighting, NATO is prepared to regain control of Gibraltar, a key location that controls access to the Mediterranean Sea.

Dagger 1-3 divided into two teams. Haz Carter and ‘Gecko’ parachuted in to destroy the coastal defenses, and were later joined on the beach by Murphy and Lopez. Kincaid was present in Gibraltar, but managed to escape without leaving any evidence.

5th June 2028 – Dagger Try To Extract A Biometrics CEO From Cairo

Mission: Night Raid

Most people in Egypt and Cairo are unhappy that Pax Armata is currently in control. Adding to the situation, Fayek Salim, a biometrics company CEO, has been collaborating with Pax.

Mills needs this man brought out of the country because he has valuable information about Pax’s intentions. Dagger 1-3, assisted by Egyptian special forces, are deployed to retrieve him, but the mission immediately encounters problems, and Salim is killed. Just before he dies, Salim reveals the data is hidden inside his finger.

This information reveals that Pax Armata is planning to attack Brooklyn, New York.

14th June 2028 – Pax Armata Attacks Brooklyn

Mission: No Sleep

Leading up to a NATO summit in New York, the team known as Dagger 1-3 attempts to infiltrate a Pax cell in Brooklyn. Their goal is to discover more about the planned attack and stop it before it happens.

The team learns that someone working with Kincaid is secretly aboard the US warship Artemis, which is guarding the city. The Artemis is preparing to launch missiles to demolish the bridges and escape routes, effectively trapping and then destroying the city.

The location for the attack will be revealed by Pax Armata, who will broadcast it from an armored train. When Dagger 1-3 fails to stop the train, the plan changes to bombing it as it crosses the Brooklyn Bridge.

Upon searching the debris, Haz Carter is able to prevent most of the missiles from launching.

15th June 2028 – Pax Armata Tries To Capture The President

Mission: Moving Mountains

After the events of the night before, Dagger 1-3 discovers that Kincaid is actually after President Fernandez. Although the President’s motorcade is attacked, he manages to reach a secure location. From there, Dagger 1-3 and the Secret Service successfully rescue him.

But the mission concludes with a shocking act: Kincaid fatally stabs Haz Carter, his old friend, to avenge being left behind on the battlefield years earlier.

Following the attack on New York, President Fernandez announced the creation of a global response team and strengthened NATO’s capabilities.

30th July 2028 – The Egyptian Army Retakes Cairo From Pax

Mission: Nile Guard

In a global effort to resist Pax Armata, the Egyptian Army has reclaimed Cairo, deploying tanks to retake the capital. Players will control Ibrahim Al-Khatib, a member of Unit 777, who previously assisted in the Night Raid operation.

19th September 2028 – Dagger 1-3 Take Out Air Defenses In Tajikistan

Mission: Operation Ember Strike

As NATO prepares to attack Pax Armata’s base in Tajikistan, the team known as Dagger 1-3 – now under the command of Dylan Murphy and with help from Hemlock – is sent to destroy the base’s key air defenses.

In the process, a huge dam is also destroyed.

20th September 2028 – NATO Storms Pax Armata’s Base In Tajikistan

Mission: Always Forward

NATO troops have attacked a base belonging to Pax Armata in Tajikistan. Dagger 1-3’s mission is twofold: locate Kincaid and stop any hypersonic missiles from being launched.

While the majority of the missiles were intercepted, one detonated, resulting in the loss of another team. Kincaid was discovered and explained that Pax Armata was intentionally developed by Mills and the CIA to manufacture a common enemy and strengthen NATO’s unity.

Just as Kincaid reaches for his knife, the new team member, Hemlock, shoots him. Hemlock confirms Kincaid’s death over the radio, and Mills then orders a NATO bombing of the bunker. However, Dagger 1-3 surprisingly manages to escape in a helicopter, and all communication with them is lost.

23rd September 2028 – Dagger 1-3 Raid Mills’ House & Interrogate Her

After learning that Agent Mills was behind Pax Armata and had attempted to cover up the Dagger 1-3 case, the team breaks into her house in the suburbs.

Investigators question her about every detail, and eventually, they have to deploy a team of highly trained operatives to deal with those sent to either capture or eliminate Mills.

In the end, Dylan Murphy kills Agent Mills.

Battlefield 6’s Ending Explained & What Will Happen Next?

Understanding the ending of Battlefield 6 really means understanding the scenes at Agent Mills’ home. There, she reveals information that clearly shows she and the CIA were directly or indirectly responsible for starting the worldwide conflict.

Pax targeted the NATO base in Georgia due to a technology known as ‘Project Veles’, which was able to disable satellite imagery.
While unsuccessful in retrieving it in Georgia, they obtained the technology in Gibraltar.
This allowed Pax Armata to operate in other countries, undetected, gaining the upper hand.
Agent Mills planted Kincaid in Pax Armata, and he armed them with NXC, an explosive nano-compound, which would have been launched from the missiles in Tajikistan.
Mills was apparently not working alone, with everything sanctioned by the CIA and the US government, before Kincaid went rogue and everything got out of control.

Since Mills and Kincaid weren’t the only people involved in Pax Armata’s dangerous growth, we can expect this story to continue in a future Battlefield game. As the character ‘Gecko’ hints at the end, even bigger threats are still on the horizon.
