Nintendo Switch Online Adding Luigi’s Mansion, Releasing October 30th
Nintendo just announced that the classic GameCube game, Luigi’s Mansion, is coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack! You’ll be able to play it starting October 30th, 2025 – just in time for Halloween. Originally released in 2001, Luigi’s Mansion has remained a fan favorite, even getting a remake for the 3DS and inspiring several sequels. The game puts you in the role of Luigi, who must explore a haunted mansion with the help of the Poltergust 3000 and Professor E. Gadd to rescue Mario and his friends from a host of ghosts and spirits.
The latest Luigi’s Mansion game was a remastered version of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, released for the Nintendo Switch in 2024. The last completely new game in the series, Luigi’s Mansion 3, came out in 2019, also on the Switch. The series has become very popular as a spin-off of the Mario franchise, and fans are hoping for another installment. Its recent addition to the Nintendo Switch Online service might hint that a new game is being developed, or at least that Nintendo is gauging interest. Either way, the return of Luigi’s Mansion is a welcome and fun experience for everyone.
