Beyond being a game where you play as a powerful, ancient vampire, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 offers a compelling story full of secrets and a richly detailed game world. If you enjoy games with a strong focus on narrative, this dark and atmospheric version of Seattle in the World of Darkness could be perfect for you.
Bloodlines 2 features a complete story campaign, along with some extra things to do between the main chapters. This guide will give you an idea of how long it takes to finish the game, including both the main story and all the side quests.
How Long is the Campaign in VTMB2?
Beating the main story of Bloodlines 2 will likely take around 25 hours on the Normal difficulty, if you play at a relaxed speed. If you’re aiming for full completion – finding every collectible, secret, and achievement, and unlocking all vampire powers – plan for 30 to 40 hours, depending on how efficiently you play.
Okay, so the heart of Bloodlines 2 is definitely the main story. Honestly, wandering around Seattle feels a little empty. You can hunt down collectibles and, well, feed on people if you’re into that, but that’s about it. There aren’t really any side quests that feel like they matter – most of the stuff you do outside the main story is just running around grabbing stuff, killing enemies, or doing assassinations, all while trying not to blow your cover with the Masquerade. It’s pretty focused on the main plot, which is cool, but don’t expect a ton of extra stuff to do on the side.
All Quests in Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 features 30 quests. Throughout the game, you’ll primarily play as an Elder Vampire named Phyre, but in certain quests, you’ll experience gameplay as Fabien, a Malkovian detective whose mind has been linked to Phyre’s.

As a player, I’ve learned that some quests really change things in the story, and once you finish them, you can’t go back and do certain side quests anymore. Luckily, the game always warns you before you start one of those big, irreversible missions, so you know what you’re getting into!
