One Piece: 5 Devil Fruits That Can Rival Imu’s Demon Form

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

The Elbaf arc in One Piece is incredibly thrilling, largely because it finally shows Saint Imu Nerona—the series’ most powerful and intimidating character—in action. As fans are aware, Saint Imu Nerona is the hidden ruler of the One Piece world.

Imu has demonstrated immense power throughout this storyline, including a terrifying demonic form that seems capable of defeating almost any opponent and even allows them to create powerful, binding agreements. While incredibly strong, this demonic form isn’t unbeatable – devil fruits like Luffy’s Mythical Zoan fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, and Blackbeard’s Yami Yami no Mi could potentially match its power.

Gura Gura no Mi

A Devil Fruit That Can Destroy the World

  • User: Blackbeard, Whitebeard (Formerly)
  • Type: Paramecia

I’ve heard about the Gura Gura no Mi, or the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, and it’s truly terrifying. People say it’s the most powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, and I can see why. Apparently, it gives the user the ability to create huge disasters – think massive earthquakes or enormous tsunamis – and some even believe it has the power to destroy the entire world of One Piece. It’s a pretty frightening thought!

This Devil Fruit is incredibly powerful – the most destructive of all, in fact. It can cause far more widespread damage than even Imu’s demon form. It originally belonged to Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, but after his death, Blackbeard stole it. Blackbeard clearly has significant plans for the fruit and the abilities it grants.

Toshi Toshi no Mi

A Devil Fruit That Can Create Alternate Futures

  • User: Jewelry Bonney
  • Type: Paramecia

The Toshi Toshi no Mi is a powerful Devil Fruit in One Piece that often gets underestimated. Initially believed to control age, it actually lets the user alter the future. This Paramecia-type fruit allows Bonney to change the future of herself or others, based on what she envisions as reality – the more plausible the scenario, the easier it is to achieve. This ability is incredibly dangerous, as it effectively allows Bonney to gain the powers of other Devil Fruits without consuming them.

At only twelve years old, Bonney has become incredibly skilled, demonstrating frightening potential. During the Egghead arc, she successfully transformed into Nika, effectively mimicking Luffy’s abilities. It’s quite possible Bonney could replicate this with Imu, developing a powerful, demon-like form to match their strength.

Yami Yami no Mi

A Devil Fruit That Can Cancel Others’ Abilities

  • User: Blackbeard
  • Type: Logia

The Yami Yami no Mi, often called the Darkness-Darkness Fruit, is a very unusual Devil Fruit. Unlike other Logia fruits that let you transform into a substance, this one doesn’t allow the user to become darkness itself. Surprisingly, it also makes the user take double the normal amount of damage. However, this is balanced by an incredibly powerful ability: it can nullify the powers of other Devil Fruits. Because of this unique power, many consider it to be the strongest Logia-type Devil Fruit in the world of One Piece.

Blackbeard currently has the Yami Yami no Mi, and hasn’t shown everything it can do yet. This incredibly powerful Devil Fruit is likely crucial to defeating Imu, as it can neutralize their abilities.

Loki’s Legendary Devil Fruit

An Unknown Devil Fruit That Is Bound To Be Overpowered

  • User: Loki
  • Type: Unknown

Loki, also known as the Accursed Prince of Elbaf, has become a key figure in the current story arc of One Piece, but many mysteries still surround him, especially regarding his Devil Fruit ability. He claims to possess a powerful, legendary fruit and even suggests he has the powers of Nika. However, Loki can’t actually be Nika, as that power currently belongs to Luffy.

However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Loki possessing an incredibly powerful ability. He’s a force to be reckoned with, and his powers might even prove to be on par with Imu’s after we learn more during the God Valley flashback.

Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika

A Devil Fruit That Turns One Into The Sun God Nika Upon Awakening

  • User: Monkey D. Luffy, Joy Boy (Formerly)
  • Type: Mythical Zoan

Alongside Imu’s fruit, the most legendary Devil Fruit is likely the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. Originally believed to be the Gomu Gomu no Mi, its true power is revealed only after it ‘awakens’. Once awakened, the Nika Fruit transforms its user into Nika, the Sun God within the One Piece world. Nika’s abilities are nearly boundless, drawing strength from the user’s imagination – meaning anything they can envision can become reality.

Currently, the famous character Luffy from One Piece is using this powerful fruit. Before him, Joy Boy possessed it way back during the mysterious Void Century. It’s believed this fruit holds the key to defeating Imu and could be crucial in overthrowing the World Government.

Chapter 1163 of One Piece will be released this week, as usual on Sundays. While it becomes available in Japan at midnight on Monday (JST), most fans around the world will be able to read it on October 26, 2025. The chapter will be available for free on Manga Plus.
