Since the game launched, it’s been targeted with negative reviews, largely due to concerns about its graphics and the absence of spoken dialogue. Some players have also discovered ways to quickly gain experience, potentially ruining the game’s balance.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A XP Farm Abuses Self-Destruct Exploit
A player on X, known as Anthony_0313, found a glitch in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Some trainers in Lumiose City have Pokemon that can use the Self-Destruct move. By strategically avoiding attacks, players can trick these Pokemon into using Self-Destruct right away. The player then immediately runs away, preventing the game from registering a loss, but still earning all the experience points. This can be repeated endlessly. Anthony_0313 notes that you need to be quick to escape, and recommends leading with a fast Pokemon to ensure success.
It feels a bit harsh to make Pokemon repeatedly use Self-Destruct just to gain experience quickly in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. However, it’s incredibly effective. A player named Anthony_0313 even urged others to take advantage of this method “before it gets patched,” suggesting it’s powerful enough that it might not last long.
As a long-time Pokémon fan, I’m used to doing a lot of repetitive tasks – what we call ‘grinding’ – to level up my Pokémon and get the items I need. It’s pretty common, especially if you skipped some of the optional stuff earlier in the game and now need to catch up, or if you just want to be super prepared for tough battles later on. The great thing about Pokémon is you can play however you want! And with the new Pokémon Legends: Z-A, people are already finding ways to farm for XP, but this latest trick seems like the most efficient one yet.
