Halloween celebrations have begun in New York City, and Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall has been transformed. Alienware, the computer company, has created “The Artifact,” an immersive, spaceship-themed experience for visitors.
Alienware created an interactive sci-fi event called ‘Step Inside the Artifact’ where participants connect with and collaborate with Twitch viewers to complete challenges. Plus, Alienware will randomly select winners to receive prizes.
The New York Artifact

According to the story behind this event, the artifact is traveling through time and space, looking for someone who can keep it stable. I just hope it doesn’t run into fans of the STALKER game – they’d probably shoot at it and try to sell it to a trader named Sidorovich! That might explain why it showed up in New York City instead of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
The heart of the Grand Centrale experience is a team-based game where groups of three venture into the Artifact. Inside, they navigate a dreamlike environment filled with fog, lights, and mirrors, working together to solve puzzles. If they succeed, they reach a prize portal containing a loot box. Prizes include six headsets, five gaming keyboards, twelve mice, and seven Alienware 16 Backpacks.
Four popular Twitch streamers will be showcasing the new artifact experience with daily streams. RealKatieB will stream on October 27th, followed by Ludwig on October 28th, Valkyrae on October 29th, and Symfuhny on October 30th. Streams will be live from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Eastern Time each day. Plus, on Halloween, there will be a special stream from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM featuring four lucky prize winners.
Okay, so here’s the deal: while people in New York are solving puzzles, the action on Twitch is actually helping to stabilize this crazy portal! Apparently, the streamers and viewers completing challenges in the game will directly affect the Artifact in Grand Central – like, in real-time! And get this – if you’re inside the Artifact, you can actually see and interact with the streamers through a live camera feed. It’s a two-way connection, which is pretty wild!
In addition to the prizes awarded at the in-person event, the digital prize pool includes an Alienware 25 monitor, and four lucky winners will take home an Area 51 Gaming Desktop.
The event starts today at noon. The Artifact will be open from 12 PM to 8 PM Eastern Time from October 27th to October 30th, and from 12 PM to 6 PM on Halloween.
