World of Warcraft Disables Legion Remix Character Conversion

Blizzard has temporarily stopped players from transferring characters from the Legion Remix event to the main World of Warcraft servers. This is because a bug allowed some players to unfairly keep a powerful item called Infinite Power during the transfer. While this is expected to be fixed eventually, there’s no current estimate for when players will be able to move their Legion Remix characters forward to the The War Within expansion before the event concludes.

Legion Remix is a temporary event letting players quickly experience the popular Legion expansion with greatly increased power. It’s designed for earning special achievements and rewards in World of Warcraft. This is the second event of its kind, building on last year’s Mists of Pandaria Remix with significant improvements – including the ability to move your powerful ‘Timerunner’ characters into the regular game before the event ends.

WoW: Legion Remix Timerunner Transfer Temporarily Disabled

This feature is currently unavailable. Players used to be able to send characters from the Legion Remix Timerunner content to the current version of World of Warcraft using a small hourglass button. However, that button has been removed, and it’s no longer possible to move Timerunners out of Legion Remix before they finish.

As of today, Blizzard hasn’t explained why, but a new YouTube video seems to reveal how a player managed an incredible feat in World of Warcraft. A player named Maximkad shared footage of their character accessing the difficult Mythic Manaforge Omega raid from the latest WoW update, while also retaining powerful upgrades from a previous expansion. Maximkad and a small group quickly defeated Dimensius, currently the hardest boss in the game. It’s likely this was possible due to an exploit related to the recently disabled character transfer feature.

The Timerunner transfer system has experienced issues since the start of Legion Remix. A button that was supposed to be functional didn’t work for a couple of weeks, and now that it was finally working, it’s been removed. Blizzard probably intends to fix and re-enable the system in a future phase of World of Warcraft: Legion Remix, but it might be unavailable for a while.

Even after Legion Remix ends, players will still have access to all their characters. Similar to how Mists of Pandaria Remix worked, characters from World of Warcraft: Legion Remix will be moved to the current live servers, and they’ll receive bags and basic equipment appropriate for their level. The Infinite Power system used in Legion Remix will also be removed, preventing this issue from happening again.
