Three games, including Return to Monkey Island, are leaving Xbox Game Pass today, October 31st. This brings the total number of games removed from the service in October to seven.
With a score putting it in the top 2% of games on OpenCritic, Return to Monkey Island is a highly-rated title now available on Xbox Game Pass. It’s the newest game in the beloved Monkey Island series, picking up the story shortly after Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. You don’t need to have played the first two games to enjoy Return to Monkey Island, but doing so will add extra layers of appreciation thanks to many references and nods to the past. Playing the other Monkey Island games beforehand will also enrich your experience.
Return to Monkey Island Leaving Game Pass After 3 Years
On October 31st, three games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass: Return to Monkey Island, Metal Slug Tactics, and Jusant. Players should be able to play them until around midnight local time on November 1st. Return to Monkey Island is the most popular of these games and has been available on Game Pass the longest – since November 2022. It’s leaving just shy of its third anniversary on the service. As always, Xbox Game Pass members can purchase these games with discounts of up to 20% before they’re removed.

Xbox Game Pass previously removed four games in mid-October: Cocoon, Core Keeper, Donut County, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed. Including these, a total of seven games have been taken off the service this month. However, October also saw 66 new games added, leading to a net increase of 59 titles overall. Even if you don’t count the many Ubisoft+ Classics added with the recent price increase, Xbox Game Pass still added 19 new games – significantly more than it removed this month.

Xbox Game Pass has revealed six games coming in November 2025. The lineup starts with 1000xResist and Football Manager 26 on November 4th. Over the next ten days, players can look forward to Whiskerwood, Voidtrain, Winter Burrow, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Microsoft is expected to announce which games will be leaving the service around November 4th, along with full details about the first wave of November releases.
