If you’re playing Battlefield 6 online, you’ll likely encounter other players. There’s been a lot of debate about whether the game also includes bots in its main multiplayer modes, and we have the information you need.

It hasn’t even been a month since the release of Battlefield 6, and the term “bot” is already being overused. It’s lost its meaning because it’s been said so often. A “bot” is simply a computer-controlled character, typically found in practice modes or solo campaigns, and rarely in online multiplayer games. That’s why it’s so strange that many Battlefield 6 players believe the game is overrun with them.

Does Battlefield 6 Have Bots?

Battlefield 6 does feature bots in its online multiplayer component, not just the campaign.

Battlefield 6 now officially includes bots. While they were present in the Battlefield 6 Portal mode and even in some multiplayer matches since launch, EA and Battlefield Studios publicly announced their wider implementation on November 1st with the new Casual Breakthrough playlist.

Casual mode fills most of the game with AI bots, alongside a few real players. This creates a more laid-back experience, preventing highly skilled players from spoiling the fun. You can easily spot the bots because their movements aren’t realistic.

These enemies move in a jerky, unnatural way and often just stand still while shooting. Unlike human players, they don’t dodge or move around much, so they won’t try to disorient you with quick movements. While you’re certain to encounter bots in the Casual Breakthrough mode, let’s investigate why you might be facing them in other game modes as well.

Why Are Bots Appearing In Battlefield 6 Matchmaking?

So, if Battlefield 6 can’t find enough real players to fill up a server, they’ll just use bots to fill the spots. Basically, it keeps the game going even when not enough people are online, which is cool, I guess.

From the very beginning, players have noticed lobbies being filled with bots to increase the number of participants. Battlefield 6 is doing well with a strong and consistent player base, and that’s expected to continue for a long time. Given the game’s popularity and positive reception, it’s strange to see bots appearing so often.

I’ve noticed a lot of bots when playing during off-peak European hours. Reddit users have also reported that lobbies in regions outside of Europe and the US are often filled with bots during these times.

Players in several areas are noticing bots even when servers aren’t at their busiest. Using bots is the easiest way to keep game lobbies full and make sure teams are balanced, particularly in large, fast-paced matches like 64-player Conquest.

Currently, neither EA nor the team at Battlefield Studios has publicly responded to the bot issue. Their only comment so far has been a brief announcement about the Casual Breakthrough mode. Since a key focus for the next Battlefield game is better communication with players, many are hoping for a more substantial response soon.
