The upcoming Infinity Castle arc promises to showcase the most intense battles we’ve seen in the series yet. With the fate of humanity at stake, the powerful Hashira will be central to the fight against Muzan and his demons. But this war will be incredibly dangerous, as Muzan’s strongest followers are long-lived and have battled Hashira for generations.
The powerful Hashira from the Taisho Era are unique, as a few of them already bear a special mark. During the brutal battles within the Infinity Castle, their chances of survival aren’t equal. Now that the first Infinity Castle movie has been released, we have some idea of what happens. Here’s a look at how likely each Hashira is to make it through the fight.
Shinobu Kocho
Insect Hashira Takes on Doma in Infinity Castle
- Manga Debut: Chapter 28
- Anime Debut: Episode 15
Shinobu Kocho is determined to avenge her sister and is preparing to battle Doma. However, fighting such a powerful demon—Doma is one of Muzan’s strongest fighters—will be incredibly difficult. His unmatched combat skills are terrifying, even to the most skilled demon slayers.
Shinobu is going to fight Doma by herself, and it’s a very dangerous situation for her. While she’s a highly skilled demon slayer and knows the risks, it likely won’t be enough to defeat him. Ultimately, her chances of survival depend on how long she can hold out alone. If no one arrives to help her, she may not make it through the fight.
Muichiro Tokito
The Mist Hashira Faces a Serious Challenge
- Manga Debut: Chapter 44
- Anime Debut: Episode 21
Muichiro Tokito is unique among the Hashira for defeating an Upper Moon demon completely on his own. Once he developed a demon slayer mark, his power increased dramatically, making him an exceptionally skilled swordsman. He moves with incredible grace and fluidity, even managing to hold his own in a quick practice battle against both Igruo and Sanemi at the same time.
I’ll never forget the fury I feel. Even if my mind fails, my body will always remember that rage – it will stay with me forever. That’s why I pushed myself so relentlessly, even to the point of bleeding, to destroy demons. And not just defeat them, but wipe them out completely.
I’m watching Muichiro, and it seems his biggest hurdle in the Infinity Castle will be weathering the first attack from Kokushibo – he’s going to be the first swordsman to face him. If he gets seriously hurt early on, I worry he might not make it. But if he can just hold out for a little while, he has a decent chance of surviving the whole fight. It’s really hard to say how things will go, though.
Mitsuri Kanroji
The Love Hashira Will Fight Dide-by-Side With Iguro
- Manga Debut: Chapter 44
- Anime Debut: Episode 21
As a Demon Slayer fan, I’m really fascinated by Mitsuri Kanroji! She’s one of the few Hashira in this generation to unlock the Demon Slayer Mark, which is incredible. But honestly, it was a little worrying to see her struggle so much against Zohakuten, especially when we later find out he was just one form of the demon’s power. It makes you wonder if, even with the mark, she might not be quite as powerful as some of the other top-tier slayers. It’s a really interesting point to consider!
Kanroji has a relatively favorable matchup against Nakime within the Infinity Castle, as she’ll be fighting with another Hashira, improving her chances of survival. However, her inability to defeat Zohakuten raises questions about whether she’s strong enough to take on an Upper Moon demon.
Obanai Iguro
Serpent Hashira Faces an Easier Battle
- Manga Debut: Chapter 45
- Anime Debut: Episode 22
Obanai Iguro is a Hashira who doesn’t get much attention. We know very little about his background, and his origins remain a mystery. However, during the battle in the Infinity Castle, he encounters Nakime, the new Upper Rank Four. While Nakime’s abilities are remarkable, she isn’t as strong as the other high-ranking demons.
Iguro is incredibly skilled, so as long as he stays alert, he’ll likely survive. It would be exciting to see him unleash his full power. The upcoming arc might also reveal details about his history and why he became a Demon Slayer, giving us a better understanding of his intense hatred for demons.
Giyu Tomioka
Water Hashira is to Surpass His Own Expectations
- Manga Debut: Chapter 1
- Anime Debut: Episode 1
Giyu was the first of the Hashira to meet Tanjiro and Nezuko after their family was attacked. Now, as their journey comes full circle, he’s preparing to fight alongside Tanjiro against Akaza. Akaza previously killed Kyojuro Rengoku during the Mugen Train battle, and this new confrontation promises to be a pivotal and unforgettable moment in the Demon Slayer story.
Tomioka is expected to be a key player in the upcoming fight, and will likely activate his demon slayer mark thanks to Tanjiro. While Doma and Kokushibo are battling elsewhere, Tanjiro and Tomioka have a good opportunity to defeat their opponent, as he isn’t as strong as those two. Akaza’s fight with Rengoku showed he has weaknesses, and with their marks activated, Tanjiro and Tomioka stand a strong chance of winning.
Sanemi Shinazugawa
The Wind Hashira’s Indomitable Spirit Makes Him Unkillable
- Manga Debut: Chapter 45
- Anime Debut: Episode 22
Sanemi Shinazugawa is considered the strongest swordsman of his generation. He’s an incredibly powerful and determined fighter, feared by demons. A difficult past has made him a highly skilled survivor, driven by instinct.
I know how unfair the world is… because good people… die one after another.
Shinazugawa becomes even more formidable when facing desperate situations. Inside the Infinity Castle, he’ll be completely focused on getting revenge for Kagaya Ubuyashiki and ending Muzan’s tyranny. The appearance of his demon slayer mark will make him incredibly difficult to defeat. Because of this, Shinazugawa is likely one of the few Hashira who will make it through the brutal fight in Muzan’s fortress.
Gyomei Himejima
Stone Hashira Might Finally Manifest His Mark
- Manga Debut: Chapter 44
- Anime Debut: Episode 21
Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, is renowned as one of the most powerful fighters of his time. Despite being blind, he’s consistently overcome incredibly difficult challenges and survived grueling battles. Remarkably, he’s always won against seemingly impossible odds, defeating dangerous demons without ever showing any physical strain – suggesting he still has immense potential. However, that may be about to change.
I watched as Gyomei, the Stone Hashira, entered the Infinity Castle, knowing he was walking into the fight of his life. He and the other Hashira were up against one of the Twelve Kizuki, a demon with incredibly strange and powerful abilities. It was almost… good that this demon was so unusual, because fighting alongside a slayer who’s already unlocked their mark might be exactly what Gyomei needs to awaken his own. Even without it, Gyomei is a force to be reckoned with, but I had a feeling that once he did unlock his mark, his chances of surviving this battle would increase dramatically.
