The new Roots update for PEAK introduces a special item called Fortified Milk. You might wonder why you’d need milk in a climbing game, but this powerful consumable can be a lifesaver in tough situations. Fortified Milk is unique to the Roots area and protects you from damage when you’re in danger. You’ll find one at the start of the area, and figuring out when to use it will be key to survival in PEAK.
What Does Fortified Milk Do in PEAK?
In PEAK, Fortified Milk is a drink that temporarily boosts your defense. When you drink it, a shield appears around your character, protecting you from damage. This shield works against all kinds of threats – whether it’s an enemy like a spider or dangerous weather – and keeps your stamina from going down.
The helpful effect of Fortified Milk doesn’t last long, fading after just a few seconds. Because of this, it’s best to save it for when you really need it – it’s a powerful item, but using it at the right moment is key.
How to Get Calcium Intake Badge in PEAK
Drinking Fortified Milk now unlocks a new in-game achievement called the Calcium Intake badge. You’ll earn this badge by blocking a total of 100 damage with Fortified Milk. It’s a great reward for players who use it strategically, saving it for important battles instead of small fights.
You can often find your first bottle of Fortified Milk at the plane crash site. After that, finding more relies on both luck and thoroughly searching the area. Most of the milk is hidden inside luggage scattered around the map, so it’s essential to search every container you find. Explore widely and collect every bottle you come across.
When exploring the Roots, it’s a good idea to always carry at least one Fortified Milk. Its protective shield can be a lifesaver in tough situations, helping you survive attacks from enemies or when dealing with things that drain your energy.
You’ll likely find Fortified Milk more often while the Root biome is featured in the game. After November 17th, the Root biome will appear less frequently, making Fortified Milk harder to come by. If you’re preparing for a challenging climb or trying to earn the Calcium Intake badge, it’s best to gather as much as you can now.
