Sports Interactive, the company behind Football Manager, stated that the cancellation of last year’s game, Football Manager 25, actually benefited the development of Football Manager 26. The unexpected cancellation of FM 25 left fans without a new game for an extended period.
Okay, so Football Manager 26 came out and the critics actually liked it a lot, which was a surprise! But honestly, we, the fans, weren’t so impressed. Steam reviews quickly turned really negative – it got a ‘Mostly Negative’ rating, which is pretty rough. It’s a shame, because I was really hoping for a smoother launch this year.
While the launch of Battlefield 6 REDSEC received mostly negative reviews, many people are still playing and enjoying it. Football Manager 26, however, had a much steeper decline, quickly becoming extremely poor in quality.
According to FootballGamingZone (via Steam250), Football Manager has surprisingly landed at number seven on the list of all-time worst games. While it ranks higher than titles like Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight and FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction, it’s still disappointing news for fans of the series.
Surprisingly, Football Manager 26 didn’t launch with a large update to fix problems. Despite noticeable performance issues on consoles, it looks like improvements will be released gradually. This slow approach could frustrate players who bought the game right away.
