This article contains spoilers for Dispatch up through Episode 8.
I recently completed my first playthrough of Dispatch, and while the ending was incredibly moving, I made a critical error in Episode 7 that unfortunately ruined all my progress. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted Robert to end up with Blonde Blazer – her fun and slightly awkward personality just seemed perfect for the Robert I was developing. Even after learning more about Invisigal and feeling sympathy for her, I still believed Blonde Blazer was the best match for Robert, and I made sure all my interactions with her felt like a classic romantic comedy – until that mistake in Episode 7.
Even though I was sure of my choices, I decided not to kiss Blonde Blazer at the start of the game. I wanted her relationship with Robert to develop naturally, and I hoped my decision wouldn’t matter much, even after being warned she’d remember it. Luckily, it didn’t, and I got more chances to help Robert and Blazer become closer in later episodes. However, Episode 7 – a surprisingly short one – completely caught me off guard with an unexpected twist.
One Moment of Hesitation in Dispatch Episode 7 Cost Me Everything With Blonde Blazer
Throughout my Dispatch game, I really wanted to build Robert into the ideal hero. I tried to be a supportive and encouraging leader to the Z-Team whenever possible, and despite everyone – including Invisigal herself – saying she wasn’t worth the effort, I went out of my way to keep her on the team. I constantly believed in her potential and encouraged her to improve. That’s why the locker room scene in Dispatch Episode 7 was such a tough decision for me.
Okay, so my big goal in the game was to not only help Invisigal and get her to stay with the team, but also somehow become the only one Blonde Blazer Robert was interested in. That meant I had to be super supportive of Invisigal without going too far – and honestly, the game, Dispatch, made that a really tricky balancing act. It was hard to know where the line was sometimes!
In the seventh episode, the Z-Team meets to decide if Invisigal should be kicked off the team after she ignored orders and almost got Chase hurt. Unbeknownst to them, Visi overhears everything and goes to the locker room to pack. Robert soon joins her, and she admits she was the one who damaged his Mecha Man suit. I decided Robert would forgive her, but I didn’t expect what happened next! As she leaves, turning invisible, Robert is suddenly pushed against the lockers and kissed by Visi, who reappears.
At a crucial moment, Dispatch gave me a choice: continue the kiss or pull away. Time was running out, and I considered the consequences of each option. If I pulled away, Robert could stay with Blonde Blazer, but Visi might become a villain, undoing all the progress I’d made with her. If I continued the kiss, Visi would likely stay with the team, but it could damage Robert’s relationship with Blazer.
I couldn’t decide between two options and waited too long. The game ended up choosing for me, pushing me toward one path. I was hoping Robert and Blazer would talk about the kiss, giving me a chance to explain everything. But that didn’t happen. By the end of Episode 8, Robert was already committed to a relationship with Invisigal, and his connection with Blazer was purely professional.
It’s frustrating to realize I’m one of a very small group of players in Dispatch—only about 6%—who ended up pursuing relationships for Robert with both Blonde Blazer and Invisigal. Though, I don’t really see it as ‘falling’ for both of them. For me, it came down to time constraints and not wanting to redo the progress I’d made with Invisigal’s storyline. My goal wasn’t about Robert being with both women, but about making the best choices for the Z-Team while still trying to get Robert and Blonde Blazer together. Luckily, Dispatch‘s system lets me revisit scenes and correct my decisions.
