In December 2025, PlayStation Plus subscribers on the Extra and Premium tiers will no longer be able to play 9 games, including popular titles like Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition, Sonic Frontiers, and Forspoken. This change doesn’t affect Essential subscribers, as they don’t have access to the rotating selection of games.
In 2022, PlayStation revamped its PS Plus subscription service, introducing three levels: Essential, Extra, and Premium. All subscribers get access to online multiplayer, discounts, cloud storage, and free monthly games (as long as they remain subscribed). Those who choose the Extra or Premium tiers also gain access to a large library of games and additional perks.
Games Leaving PS Plus in December 2025

- Forspoken (PS5)
- Battlefield 2042 (PS4, PS5)
- Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5)
- Sonic Frontiers (PS4, PS5)
- Surviving Mars (PS4)
- Star Trek: Bridge Crew (PS4, PSVR)
- Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge (PSVR2)
- Firefighting Simulator: The Squad (PS4, PS5)
- Arcade Paradise VR (PSVR2)
PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members will lose access to 9 games in December, including titles like Forspoken, Battlefield 2042, Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition, and Sonic Frontiers. The full list also includes Surviving Mars, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, Firefighting Simulator: The Squad, and Arcade Paradise VR. These games are playable on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, with some being exclusive to PlayStation VR and VR2. Fans have noticed a continuing trend of PlayStation removing VR games from the service without replacing them with an equal number of new titles.
Even though some games are leaving PS Plus, November 18th will be a great day for subscribers! The popular game Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming back to the service, along with Pacific Drive, Still Wakes the Deep, MotoGP 25, and other titles. PS Plus Premium members get even more, with access to the classic game Tomb Raider: Anniversary. PS Plus Essential subscribers will receive their next selection of games in December.
While some games will be removed from PS Plus Extra and Premium in December, the service is also adding a major title: Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar Games confirmed last week that the upgraded version of the game will be available next month on PS Plus Extra. This enhanced edition features improvements like 60 FPS gameplay, better graphics, HDR support, and 4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
