One Piece Haki Users Stronger Than Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy leads the Straw Hat Pirates and is now recognized as one of the most powerful pirates in the world of One Piece. Though he only began his adventures a few years ago, Luffy has already defeated incredibly strong opponents, including Kaido, Katakuri, Doflamingo, and Cracker.

Through his many fights, Luffy has become a stronger and more skilled fighter. He’s now mastered all three forms of Haki, and even learned advanced techniques for each. Despite this, he’s still gaining experience, meaning some characters in the world of One Piece have more powerful Haki than he does.

This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

Shanks

Captain Of The Red Hair Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: No

Shanks is often considered the strongest character in One Piece. He quickly became a powerful pirate, earning the title of youngest Emperor ever. Remarkably, Shanks achieved all of this primarily through his mastery of Haki.

After years of intense battles, Shanks has perfected his Haki to an incredible degree, making it extremely difficult for anyone to overcome him. His most powerful ability is Conqueror’s Haki, which he can even use to disable his opponents’ ability to see into the future, giving him a major advantage. Shanks’ Haki is so strong that he once intimidated a Marine Admiral without even fighting. Currently, Shanks demonstrates a greater mastery of Haki than Luffy.

Scopper Gaban

Left Hand Man Of Gol D. Roger

  • Devil Fruit: No

Scopper Gaban was Gol D. Roger’s most trusted first mate. While it’s unknown exactly when he joined Roger’s crew, we know he remained with them until they disbanded. Before the events in Elbaf, fans heavily debated Gaban’s power level, but Eiichiro Oda revealed his true strength when the Straw Hats arrived in the land of giants.

Scopper Gaban isn’t a Devil Fruit user, but he’s still incredibly powerful in the world of One Piece. He’s a master of all three types of Haki, and uniquely, he knows how to overcome the healing abilities of the Holy Knights. Because Luffy hasn’t learned to use Haki effectively against immortal opponents, Gaban has the upper hand.

Whitebeard

Leader Of The Whitebeard Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: Yes

Whitebeard led the Whitebeard Pirates, but unlike many famous pirates, he wasn’t interested in becoming well-known or gaining power. His main concern was always the safety and well-being of his crew, whom he considered his family. Eventually, attacking anyone within the Whitebeard Pirates became risky, as it could easily lead to a war with Whitebeard, widely known as the “Strongest Man in the World.”

Whitebeard had an incredibly powerful Devil Fruit, the Gura Gura no Mi, capable of instantly destroying islands. However, he wasn’t solely dependent on it; he also became a master of Haki, which allowed him to effectively fight others with Devil Fruit powers. While he didn’t often showcase his Haki skills, he once proved equal to Roger in Haki ability. Based on recent performances, Luffy still hasn’t reached Whitebeard’s level of strength.

Gol D. Roger

The King Of The Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: No

Gol D. Roger, known as the Pirate King, was likely the most powerful figure of his time. He was a fearless and adventurous person who eagerly accepted any challenge and loved a good fight.

Roger was an incredibly skilled swordsman who fought alongside Ace. He was famous for combining his sword skills with powerful Haki techniques, making him a fearsome opponent. At his peak, Roger was almost unbeatable. Currently, Luffy hasn’t yet mastered Haki to the same degree as Roger.

Davy D. Xebec

Captain Of The Rocks Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: No

Davy D. Xebec was the central figure in the God Valley Incident. Though many powerful individuals participated, Xebec was the one who truly stood out. He was a pirate who had immense confidence in his own abilities, and he specifically sought out crew members who he believed were also strong.

Rocks D. Xebec was an incredibly powerful pirate who dominated his time without relying on a Devil Fruit. He’s famous for being the only pirate ever known to defeat an Admiral, and he was also a highly skilled swordsman who expertly used Haki in battle.

Imu

Leader Of The World Government

  • Devil Fruit: Yes

Imu is the world’s hidden ruler, an ancient being who has existed since a mysterious event in the distant past. They have complete control over the World Government, and their commands are absolute. While Imu hadn’t shown their power until recently, their actions have revealed why they sit at the very top of the world’s power structure.

Imu possesses many powerful skills, including Haki. They demonstrated this ability in Elbaf, and the resulting energy was so strong that it was felt even in the Underworld.

Joyboy

The First Pirate In History

  • Devil Fruit: Yes

Joyboy is believed to be the very first pirate, and likely originated from a lost kingdom known as the Ancient Kingdom – a civilization almost completely removed from historical record. He was a major adversary to Imu and the World Government.

Twenty nations joined forces to defeat Joyboy and the Ancient Kingdom, and sadly, they succeeded. Despite this defeat, Joyboy remains a legendary figure. Because we haven’t seen Joyboy’s full power yet, it’s hard to say just how strong he was. However, many believe he might be the most powerful Haki user ever in the world of One Piece. His sealed Haki was so immense that it even forced the Five Elders to retreat back to Marijoa.
