Battlefield 6 Update Changes Popular Bugged Weapon Scope

A recent update to Battlefield 6 has changed the SU-230 LPVO weapon scope, and players have mixed feelings about it. The scope, which was added with the Season 1 update last month, initially had a noticeable tint that some thought was a bug. Although the developers at DICE didn’t officially address this tint, it’s now gone – but some players actually preferred how it looked before.

DICE recently released a major update for Battlefield 6 as part of its ongoing Season 1 support. Called California Resistance, the update includes a lot of free content for both Battlefield 6 and the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC. Battlefield 6 players can now explore the new Eastwood map and try out the limited-time Sabotage game mode. REDSEC players get a new Gauntlet mission, a sandbox mode within Portal, and other additions.

Battlefield 6 Quietly Changes SU-230 LPVO Scope

The latest update for Battlefield 6 includes the usual improvements and bug fixes. However, players have noticed one change that wasn’t listed in the official patch notes: the SU-230 LPVO weapon scope no longer has a greenish tint. Some players wondered if this tint was intentional, but its removal suggests it was actually a bug. DICE, the game developer, hadn’t previously addressed the issue, so this change confirms it wasn’t part of the scope’s original design.

The recent change has received varied feedback from players. Some believe the previous color scheme helped them spot enemies more easily – one player said it made seeing soldiers “incredibly easy.” Others are happy with the new look, feeling it’s more accurate to how it should be. For those unfamiliar, this scope was added with Battlefield 6‘s Season 1 update and can be unlocked by dealing 3,000 damage at ranges over 75 meters and getting 35 headshot kills.

If you’re still deciding whether to buy the newest Battlefield game, you’ll be happy to hear that Battlefield 6 will be available to play for free for a week. From November 25th to December 1st, you can try out some of the game’s maps and modes. The free trial includes 5 game modes and 3 maps, and it’s available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC – no purchase necessary!
