The team behind the game Dispatch has thanked its fans for their support after completing its first week without a new episode. Dispatch quickly became popular after launching on October 22nd with its first two episodes, and players are now hoping for news about a second season.
AdHoc Studio, a new company formed in 2018 by veterans from Telltale Games, Ubisoft, and Night School Studio, has released its first project: an animated superhero comedy starring Aaron Paul and Laura Bailey. The show, called Dispatch, has earned positive reviews for its engaging story, excellent animation, and gameplay where your choices significantly impact each episode, making it very replayable.

Following its release, the podcast Dispatch launched two new episodes each week, concluding its first season on November 12th with episodes 7 and 8. While fans were disappointed to see the season end, AdHoc Studios acknowledged their enthusiasm. The studio also shared exciting news: the game has attracted over 2 million players on PlayStation 5 and Steam, marking a significant success for the development team.
We’re also sad there are no new episodes this week, but thank you to the 2 million players that have joined us so far. Wouldn’t be here without you. Art by Derek Stratton. — AdHoc Studio (@adhocstudio.com) 2025-11-19T20:00:05.447Z
Players are showering the game with appreciation, expressing their love for its story and congratulating the developers on its success. This enthusiastic response is well-deserved, as Dispatch has received “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, with 97% of nearly 54,000 players giving it a thumbs up. Critics also love it, with a 94% recommendation rate on OpenCritic and a perfect 100% player rating. The game has also been nominated for Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2025, facing strong competition from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, and Despelote.
SPOILER WARNING — Dispatch Season 1 Ending Content Below
The eight episodes of the game feature choices that change the fates of several characters. Players can influence romantic relationships, potentially pairing Robert with Blonde Blazer, Invisigal, or leaving him single – or even caught in a love triangle. The story’s outcome also depends on whether Invisigal ultimately becomes a hero or a villain.
The biggest decisions players face probably come in episode 8, revolving around the character Shroud. You can choose to give him either the Astral Pulse or the prototype, but giving him both leads to what many consider the best possible ending. If you’ve developed a good relationship with Invisigal, you’ll be able to either spare Shroud, avenging Robert’s father, or kill him yourself. Even if you spare him, Robert will still severely beat him before the Superhero Defense Network takes him away, and this outcome might be the official ending. Leaving Shroud alive opens up possibilities for him to escape and manipulate events from the shadows, or even to find redemption. Alternatively, if Robert doesn’t kill Shroud, Invisigal might, potentially making her an even greater threat in a future season.
With season one still being talked about, players are eager to find out if Dispatch will get a second season. The developers haven’t officially announced anything yet, but AdHoc’s creative leader, Pierre Shorette, mentioned in November that they were considering their options after the first season proved popular. Actor Aaron Paul also expressed his hope for more seasons, telling his co-star MoistCr1TiKaL in a recent YouTube interview, “I hope we get to do multiple seasons of this game.”
