After 5 Years, Demon Slayer Creator Is Finally Making A Comeback

Demon Slayer is having an incredible year, and it’s poised to be the biggest anime series of 2025. The first part of the new movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 – Akaza’s Return, came out in Japan in July and quickly became a massive hit. It broke box office records and became the highest-grossing film in Japanese history. The movie has also been hugely successful around the world, even outperforming other popular releases like Superman.

The incredible popularity of the Demon Slayer movie is well-earned, and to celebrate its success, Demon Slayer creator Koyoharu Gotouge is returning with a brand new illustration. Fans can find it in issue #52 of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Koyoharu Gotouge Makes a Comeback With New Demon Slayer Illustration

The Demon Slayer manga finished its run several years ago. The final chapter was released in 2020, and the author, Gotouge, has been quiet since then. However, it looks like that’s about to change, as Gotouge is starting a new project.

Fans occasionally receive new content from the author, Koyoharu Gotouge. Recently, it was announced she’ll be releasing a brand new illustration. While it’s unclear what the illustration will depict, it likely connects to the first Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie.

Koyoharu Gotouge, the creator of Demon Slayer, recently made a surprising return to Weekly Shonen Jump, as they don’t typically do extra illustrations. Their last new artwork for fans was for Black Clover’s 10th anniversary, but it wasn’t related to Demon Slayer.
