The battle royale mode in Battlefield 6, called REDSEC, will host a professional esports league, the Elite Series. The first season kicks off on December 10th and runs through January 18th, with a total prize pool of $1 million.
The Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series begins on December 10, 2025, followed by the launch of the Open Series on December 12, 2025. The Open Series is open to players of any skill level, while the Elite Series will showcase the most skilled REDSEC competitors. Both series will allow players to compete using either a controller or mouse and keyboard on any platform – PC or console.
How Does Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series Work?
The new Elite Series will host weekly tournaments with cash prizes, split into three areas: the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC). Each area will invite 50 team captains, who will each bring a team of 4 players, making a total of 600 competitors.
Okay, so here’s how it works: fifty squads are dropping into six REDSEC Battle Royale matches each day. After each set of matches, the top eight squads face off in a final, intense gauntlet. We’re doing this for three days straight, and we earn points based on how well we do. At the end of it all, the best 25 squads move on to the regional Season Finals. Basically, it’s a grind to prove we’re the best!
All matches will be played online and broadcast by the competitors themselves. Battlefield Studios will handle the live broadcast of the Season Finals for each region. Teams in the Americas region will compete for $50,000 per qualifying day, with a total of $500,000 available during the Finals Gauntlet. The APAC and EMEA regions will have $20,000 prize pools for each qualifying day, and $285,000 split among participating teams in the Finals Gauntlet.
Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series Season 1 Schedule
We’ll let you know when each season begins closer to the qualifying matches, but here are the dates for the Match Day and Season Finals:

- Match Day #2 – Thursday, December 11, 2025
- Match Day #3 – Tuesday, December 16, 2025
- Season Finals – Thursday, December 18, 2025
How Does Battlefield REDSEC Open Series Work?
The Open Series will take place in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Teams can sign up on Repeat.gg (check the blog for instructions), and the tournament code for each match day will be available in the Repeat App. Your score will be based on the combined results of your ten best Battle Royale and ten best Gauntlet matches played over all three match days. The top 250 teams from each region will advance to the Season Finals, and the eight highest-ranking teams will qualify for the Elite Series next season.
Open Series will feature a $30,000 prize pool, with $10,000 reserved for each region.

Okay, so like with the Elite Series, they’re not giving us exact times for the Open Series just yet – they’ll announce those closer to the day. But good news, they have given us the dates for the Match Day and Season Finals, which is awesome!
