The highly-rated remake of Silent Hill 2, developed by Bloober Team, is now available on Xbox consoles through the Microsoft Store. Originally released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in October 2024, the game is now playable on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Okay, so things are looking really promising for a Silent Hill 2 remake on Xbox! Last month, people started noticing some weird stuff on the official website – empty boxes next to the PlayStation and PC logos, which got everyone thinking Xbox might be in the mix. Then, just a few days ago, the game actually got rated by the ESRB for Xbox! It even popped up on the Microsoft Store with a release date of November 21, 2025, but the listing was taken down pretty quickly. Still, it’s a huge sign that we might be able to play it on Xbox Series X/S after all!
Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Available Now On Xbox Series X/S
The rumors from the Microsoft Store leak were correct: the remake of Silent Hill 2 launched on Xbox Series X/S today. To celebrate, the standard edition is currently 50% off, reduced from $69.99 to $34.99. A deluxe edition is also available for Xbox at $39.99 (also 50% off), and it includes a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and a special Pyramid Head pizza box cosmetic for your character, James Sunderland.
The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake will be an Xbox Play Anywhere game, letting you play it on both Xbox consoles and PC with a single purchase. The game’s listing also indicates it’s optimized for handheld devices, suggesting it will perform well on the ROG Ally and similar handheld PCs.
Although early previews were somewhat mixed, the Silent Hill 2 remake received very positive reviews when it launched in October 2024. It currently has an 87 average score from top critics on OpenCritic, and 94% of critics recommend it. Fans also love the game, giving it a 90 rating on OpenCritic. Surprisingly, Silent Hill f lived up to the high standards set by Bloober Team’s remake the previous year, earning an 86 average score from top critics. Players can purchase a bundle including both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f on the Microsoft Store for $79.99.
