Pokémon TCG Pocket Next Set Release Details—New Set B1a, Explained

Pokémon TCG Pocket is getting new content very quickly, even though the developers are responding to feedback. The next set, B1a, will be released soon, so here’s what you need to know about its possible release date and what to anticipate.

Mega Rising marked the end of a year-long journey with the Pokémon TCG Pocket app. The B1 set is a massive collection of cards that will keep players collecting for weeks. While Creatures Inc. and DeNA have recently been releasing new sets at a slightly slower pace, the Deluxe Pack ex offered a welcome break for some.

A new Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket set, B1a, is coming soon, and it’s a good idea to stock up on Hourglasses beforehand.

When Is The Next Pokémon TCG Pocket Set?

According to various sources, Pokémon TCG Pocket Set B1a isn’t arriving until December 17.

It appears there won’t be a new Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket set released in November 2025. This would follow the pattern from the first year of Pocket, where the initial set, Genetic Apex, was released before a follow-up set (Set 1a) arrived in late December 2024. This gave players about two months to finish collecting everything from the first set.

So, I’ve been hearing from the usual sources that the Pokémon TCG plan for 2025 is shaping up just like this year. Apparently, the ‘Mega Rising’ set is going to stick around all the way into December 2025. I guess with a set that huge – over 300 new cards is a lot – they’re just stretching it out for as long as they can.

A new collection, currently without a name, will be released at the end of December 2025, just in time for the holidays.

What Can We Expect From Pokémon TCG Pocket B1a?

Pokémon TCG Pocket B1a is likely to be a mini-set featuring a much smaller assortment of cards.

Since the B1a set is still quite distant, we haven’t received any information or previews about it yet. However, it’s logical to assume the next set will be similar to previous ones ending in ‘a’ or ‘b’. For example, after Genetic Apex came Mythical Island, which only included 86 new cards.

Previous sets like Triumphant Light (with 96 cards) and Shining Revelry (with 112 cards) have steadily increased in size. The upcoming set, B1a, is expected to continue this trend, likely containing between 100 and 120 new cards, including Rare cards, thanks to the addition of special cards like Shinies.
