The next special Tera Raid battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will challenge trainers with Dragapult the Unrivaled. This battle also marks the end of a year-long series of these events, as Dragapult is the last of the powerful pseudo-legendary Pokemon to be featured as a Tera Raid boss.
Dragapult, often called the Stealth Pokemon, was introduced in the Pokemon Sword and Shield games as a powerful, rare monster unique to the Galar region. It’s the final form in the Dreepy evolution line, evolving from Drakloak at level 60. As a Ghost and Dragon type, Dragapult is famous for its incredible speed and strong attacks. However, it’s relatively fragile compared to other powerful Pokemon like Dragonite and Garchomp, making it a high-risk, high-reward fighter. Its special attack, Dragon Darts, involves launching two Dreepy as projectiles to hit multiple opponents.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Dragapult Tera Raid Details (December 2025)
After the Goodra Tera Raid event ends, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will face a new challenge: Dragapult the Unrivaled. According to Serebii.net, this tough raid battle will be available from Thursday, December 4th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time until Sunday, December 7th at 6:59 PM Eastern Time. If you miss it then, another chance will be offered from December 11th to 14th. Dragapult will be Dragon-type and defeating it will earn your Pokemon the Mightiest Mark. This event also signals the end of a year-long campaign that was previously announced for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Dragapult the Unrivaled Heralds the End of a Year-Long Saga
During the Pokemon Day celebrations in February 2025, The Pokemon Company announced that many of the year’s challenging Seven-Star Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would feature powerful, pseudo-legendary Pokemon from across all the games. These strong versions of Pokemon like Dragonite and Metagross appeared in Tera Raid dens throughout the Paldea region, each offering trainers a unique battle. Some, like Tyranitar, required smart tactics to defeat, while others, such as Garchomp, were incredibly powerful and tested even experienced Pokemon players.
The challenging seven-star Tera Raid battles featuring powerful pseudo-legendary Pokémon took a four-month break starting in July 2025. This pause was necessary to make room for other events in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, including the Shiny Treasures of Ruin and the distribution of shiny versions of the legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon, which ran throughout the summer and fall. The pseudo-legendary raids returned in November 2025 with Hydreigon, and with the appearance of Dragapult, the year-long series of Tera Raids for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has come to an end. However, The Pokémon Company could still add more seven-star Tera Raid bosses in the future, so this might not be the last one.
What Pokemon Will Work Against Dragapult?
Image via The Pokemon Company Dragapult is a powerful Pokémon with three abilities that can be tricky for trainers to handle. Its standard abilities, Clear Body and Infiltrator, offer strong defenses – Clear Body prevents stat drops, and Infiltrator bypasses defensive screens. However, its hidden ability, Cursed Body, can temporarily disable an opponent’s attacks, making battles time-sensitive. To counter any of Dragapult’s abilities, trainers should consider using moves like Skill Swap or Gastro Acid.
Dragapult, despite being a Dragon-type Pokemon vulnerable to Ice and Dragon attacks, can learn moves to protect itself from these weaknesses. However, it struggles against Fairy-type Pokemon, making them a reliable choice to battle against it. This is because Fairy Pokemon are completely unaffected by Dragapult’s Dragon-type attacks, and Fairy-type moves like Moonblast are particularly effective against Dragon Pokemon. Pokemon like Sylveon, Primarina, and Galarian Weezing could be strong choices in a battle against Dragapult. It will be interesting to see what strategies players develop in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to overcome Dragapult’s strengths.
