Producer: Metal Gear Solid 4 Port to Current-Gen Would Be “Tough”

In a recent interview, the producer of the Metal Gear Solid series discussed the challenges of bringing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern consoles.

The newly released Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has been a hit with players, selling over 1 million copies in its first two days. While fans are eager for more games in the series, the producer has indicated that bringing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to modern consoles might be more challenging than expected.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Had a Very Unique Code

In a recent interview with Real Sound, a Japanese publication, Metal Gear Solid producer Noriaki Okamura discussed the possibility of bringing Metal Gear Solid 4 to modern consoles. He explained that the game’s original design was heavily influenced by the limitations of the PlayStation 3’s hardware, which was necessary to achieve 3D performance when the game was released in 2008.

Okamura explained that Metal Gear Solid 4’s complex code presents significant challenges, making a port difficult at the moment. While he didn’t rule out the possibility of a port entirely, he indicated it wouldn’t be a simple undertaking.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s online multiplayer, Fox Hunt, launched this October. Plus, Delta Force will soon include a crossover with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. I just read on TopMob that Fortnite might be adding something like the Gulag from Warzone – a second chance for players who get eliminated! It sounds really interesting.
