This epic novel series is hailed as a masterpiece in high fantasy. In response to its immense popularity, Amazon Prime Video undertook the task of bringing this book to life in a live-action series, further exploring the cherished universe. The initial season debuted in 2021 and was well-received by viewers, becoming one of Prime Video’s most-watched shows. The second installment garnered even more praise, leading Amazon to renew the series for another season. Now, nearly two years later, the much-anticipated Prime Video series has made its grand entrance and left a powerful impact.
In the finale of the second season of the Amazon Prime Video series, there was an epic fight at Falme that unveiled Rand’al Thor as the Dragon Reborn. But things take a turn for the worse when Moghedien (played by Laia Costa) confronts Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe) and tells her that all the Forsaken have been set free. This makes it clear that the challenges ahead are greater than ever, and the entire team will need to be at their peak performance to survive future battles. The third season of The Wheel of Time picks up by taking us back to the White Tower where the Aes Sedais are gathering for a crucial meeting. It appears that the mother has some significant matters to discuss with her daughters.
Aes Sedai go against each other in an epic battle

In Episode 1 of The Wheel of Time Season 3, all the clans of Ajah march towards the grand hall of the White Tower. However, a tense and significant moment occurs when Liandrin Guirale (Kate Fleetwood), accompanied by Red Ajah sisters, enters the Great Hall with an air of assurance and command. Yet, before she can continue, she is abruptly stopped. The strict rules of the hall only allow 11 participants for the impending meeting, a topic deemed so crucial that it necessitates exclusion of lower-ranking Red Ajah members. With a displeased look, Liandrin observes as her allies are barred entry, leaving her to confront the powerful assembly by herself.
Within the confines of the chamber, a palpable tension fills the air as the Amyrlin Seat, reverently referred to as the Mother, ceremoniously commences the assembly. The sense of urgency pervading the gathering originates from Liandrin’s arrival, who presents accusations that could potentially shatter the very core of the White Tower. Without hesitation, Liandrin advances and publicly accuses the Amyrlin of breaching the Tower’s most hallowed regulations. The crux of her allegation is that the Mother has clandestinely interacted with Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) and Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), a young man believed to be the Dragon Reborn. Liandrin claims that, according to Tower protocol, they were obligated to seize and govern this Dragon, but instead, the Amyrlin is said to have defied this decree, permitting him to roam freely.
Despite Liandrin thinking she held the advantage, the Mother’s retort flipped the situation. In a powerful rebuttal, she accused Liandrin of something much more serious – being a Darkfriend. This startling revelation left the room stunned, as whispers and gasps echoed through the assembled Aes Sedai. The balance has shifted, and what was initially Liandrin’s plan to expose the Amyrlin now seems poised to become her undoing. However, Liandrin didn’t want to leave anything to chance this time around and attacked the Mother, inciting others to join the fray. The ensuing battle in the White Tower has made it abundantly clear that there are two distinct factions at play. Furthermore, a member of the Red Ajah betrayed the Brown Ajah members and stole some of the most potent artifacts in existence. She then allied with Liandrin and others attempting to escape the city.
For those unfamiliar, Liandrin is accompanied by representatives from each of the Ajahs, including Yellow and Blue. In contrast, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and her companions have made their way into the city. Upon observing the situation at the White Tower, Moiraine warns everyone that the city poses a threat and they should all exercise caution. To conclude the discussion, she announces that they will depart for Tear in the morning. Consequently, everyone decides to enjoy some leisure time before commencing their next journey.
Is [Spoiler] going to Aiel Waste?

In another location, Moiraine refers to Aes Sedai who stole certain items as the ‘Black Ajah’. Simultaneously, Moiraine and al’Lan come across Lanfear (portrayed by Natasha O’Keeffe) within the city. Their discussion revolves around Rand’al. Lanfear proposes they unite to guide Rand’al towards Tear and seize control of Callandor – a weapon that appears to be a sword but isn’t, housed in an inner chamber of the city’s old fortress. In contrast, Egwene consents to returning to the White Tower if she can traverse the Arches to glimpse the future. As viewers watch her pass through the stone arches, it becomes apparent that Egwene has now assumed the role of the new Mother and leads Aes Sedai. Elayne and Nynaeve are among her most loyal followers. Upon reaching a certain location, they spot Rand’al standing within a rushing river. Nynaeve informs Egwene that he’s been afflicted by Madness and has allegedly killed Perrin and Mat. In the future, it seems that Rand’al sports long blonde hair and his mouth and teeth are stained with blood. When Egwene attempts to contact Rand’al, their conversation ensues, during which he demands submission from her. As Rand approaches them, Egwene retreats to the White Tower, leaving behind a body covered in blood.
The story concludes with Mat, Nynaeve, Egwene, Rand, and Perrin attempting to tackle their individual predicaments. Suddenly, they were attacked by unidentified assailants, sparking concerns that the Forsaken had infiltrated the city. It was later disclosed that Lanfear, Moiraine, and al’Lan were responsible for creating the scene; however, a Forsaken member thwarted their scheme and launched a genuine assault, unsettling Lanfear. As the episode concludes, Perrin and his companions depart for the Two Rivers, while Moiraine, al’Lan, Rand, Egwene, and Aviendha head towards Tear. However, an unexpected twist unfolds when Rand modifies the plan, informing Moiraine that they will not be bound for Tear but instead, they’ll venture into the Aiel Waste.
In the initial installment of Season 3 for The Wheel of Time, it goes all out to satisfy everyone. Readers of the original series will find much to savor, while those less familiar with the books still have a wealth of intrigue to delve into. The production skillfully intertwines deep mythology with compelling narratives, ensuring that both dedicated fans and newcomers are equally enthralled.
The first three episodes of The Wheel of Time Season 3 are available for streaming on Prime Video.
