World of Warcraft’s Feast of Winter Veil 2025 Is a Little Disappointing, But There’s Still a Glimmer of Hope

Okay, so Winter Veil is live in World of Warcraft! Honestly, it’s a bit of a bummer because there’s not much new stuff this year. Still, you can jump in-game and enjoy all the usual Winter Veil fun until January 2nd. I’m hoping for more next year, but I’ll definitely be grabbing some presents!

The Feast of Winter Veil in World of Warcraft is similar to Christmas. Every year, players can complete challenges to earn special outfits, mounts, pets, and other festive items. New rewards and activities are usually added each year to keep things interesting.

World of Warcraft’s Feast of Winter Veil 2025 Has Nothing New

The Winter Veil festival is happening now in World of Warcraft, but unfortunately, there aren’t any new additions this year. The event is live until January 2nd at 10 AM PT and features the same activities and rewards as last year. The only noticeable change is that Dimensius the All-Devouring, the final boss from the recent Manaforge: Omega raid, is sporting a Santa hat!

This year’s Winter Veil event has much less new content compared to last year. In 2024, the event included new red and green costumes, speedy sleighs for traveling between locations, a holiday boss called the Abominable Greench, and reindeer pets for hunters. All of those features are returning, but there aren’t any other new additions to the event this year.

It’s disappointing that new Winter Veil decorations weren’t added to World of Warcraft with the recent Housing update (Patch 11.2.7). Content creator MrGM discovered over 60 Winter Veil-themed items in the game’s files – things like Christmas trees, lights, and presents. However, these items aren’t currently available, meaning players might have to wait until late 2026 to decorate their homes for the holidays.

It’s understandable that World of Warcraft didn’t add a lot to its Winter Veil event this year. With the release of World of Warcraft: Midnight coming up on March 2nd, Blizzard has been focused on finishing the new expansion. That probably left them with limited time to work on the holiday event.

There’s still a good chance the Winter Veil event in World of Warcraft won’t be disappointing this year. Every December 25th, the game adds presents under the Winter Veil tree, filled with food, fun items, and new collectibles. They’ve added at least one new item every year since 2007, so players can be pretty sure there will be something new to discover in 2025 too.

In December 2024, Blizzard celebrated Winter Veil in World of Warcraft by giving players the Box of Puntables toy, the Winter Veil Cracker toy, the Portentous Present pet, and 25 Bronze Celebration Tokens as part of the game’s 20th anniversary festivities.

While the Winter Veil festival might not have a lot of new content this year, there’s still plenty to do in World of Warcraft. The final phase of Legion Remix is currently underway, offering boosts to power, experience, and Bronze, and will last until January 19th. Plus, Turbulent Timeways are happening every week until February 10th. And keep an eye out for the World of Warcraft: Midnight pre-expansion event, which is expected to begin around January 20th, immediately after Legion Remix concludes.
