I’m Part of the 1% in Dispatch, and it’s the Only 1% Worth Being in

There are SPOILERS ahead for Dispatch.

I’m not interested in becoming a billionaire. I value enjoying life too much to work that hard, and I wouldn’t want to exploit others to get there. You’re probably not here to hear me complain about wealth inequality, but just remember that the richest 1% often gain their wealth unethically. You’re here because you want to be part of a different 1% – the dedicated players of Dispatch who have uncovered all the hidden connections in the game, like the relationships between Mecha Man, Invisigal, and Blonde Blazer, completed the Southlands questline to defeat the Red Ring, and discovered that elusive, previously unheard sound.

I’m a big fan of story-driven games like those made by Telltale, so it’s no surprise that Dispatch is one of my top games this year. I was really disappointed that Wuthering Waves, a 2024 release, won the Players’ Voice award over Dispatch, and I think Dispatch would have won the Debut Indie award if Expedition 33 hadn’t been released. But that’s beside the point. As many fans know, there was a bug with Dispatch‘s platinum trophy when episodes 7 and 8 came out, but it was fixed a few weeks ago. This weekend, I played Dispatch for the fourth time and finally unlocked the “H4ck3d by R0b3rt” achievement, which allowed me to earn the “Dispatched” platinum trophy.

I’ve been looking into the “H4ck3d by R0b3rt” issue and noticed a lot of confusion about the platinum trophy. It struck me that only a very small percentage – about 1.3% – of players on PlayStation Network have actually earned it. While I’m not sure what would happen if all 2 million+ players unlocked it, that 1.3% is significant – who else will protect the network and its users from the Red Ring? But if you’re currently stuck on the “H4ck3d by R0b3rt” challenge, I can help.

Say Goodbye to the Infamous Hacked by Robert Bug and Hello to Dispatch’s Platinum Trophy

We, the top 1%, feel a responsibility to both each other and the people of the Southlands, and want to leave things better for those who come next. I especially want to thank a Steam Community member named Cloud for their help and for introducing me to this community. Wherever you are, thank you for your contribution. Now, let’s begin.

Okay, so with the ‘Dispatch’ questline, you technically can jump in at Chapter 3 if you’re replaying and don’t want to redo the first two chapters – there aren’t any hacking bits in those early chapters you could miss. But honestly, ‘Dispatch’ is such a good quest, I personally started from the very beginning, with Chapter 1. I just think it’s best to play it all from the start to really get into the groove of tracking everything and making sure you’ve done it all. It’s worth replaying!

If you make a mistake while trying these techniques, it’s best to immediately quit and load your most recent save file. This will help you avoid a failed attempt being recorded, which could significantly lower your ranking on the leaderboard.

Chapter 1 Hacks

  • Intro Hacking Level

Chapter 2 Hacks

  • Minor Violence
  • Museum Robbery
  • Invisigal’s Fight Scene, Part I
  • Invisigal’s Fight Scene, Part 2

Chapter 3 Hacks

Okay, so I’ve got the basics down. Now things are getting intense! The rulebook says absolutely no violence or threats from anyone involved with this project, but honestly, the Z-Team is really acting out, especially with Sonar and Coupe potentially getting laid off. It’s easy to mess up the Flambae hack in this part, but I figured out a trick! Just send Flambae out on a mission with anyone but Prism early on. They’re a great team in Dispatch, so they won’t mess with each other and you’ll get the hack!

You can also find the final hacks for the “Invisigal vs. Thundercuck Round 2” mission by completing missions and looking in Chapter 3 of Dispatch.

  • Flambae’s Sabotage
  • Hack the Scammer
  • Bank Robbery
  • Invisigal vs. Lightningstruck, Part 1
  • Invisigal vs. Lightningstruck, Part 2
  • Invisigal vs. Lightningstruck, Part 3

Chapter 4 Hacks

  • Superhero Squabble
  • Discern the Target

Chapter 5 Hacks

  • Stalker Stalking Film Shoot
  • Power Outage, First Zone
  • Power Outage, Second Zone
  • Power Outage, Third Zone

Be sure to check out the Stalker Stalking Film Shoot mission when it becomes available. However, you’ll need to finish the Power Outages missions first to progress the story, so focus on those for now.

Chapter 6

  • Cyberbully
  • Invisigal at the Dock, Part 1
  • Invisigal at the Dock, Part 2
  • Invisigal at the Dock, Part 3
  • Invisigal at the Dock, Part 4
  • Invisigal at the Dock, Part 5

The last part of this Dispatch episode throws a lot of quick, intense hacking challenges at you. Use that energy to power through them – think of it like Mecha Man with the power of Iron Man! Seriously, Mecha Man. Iron Man.

Chapter 7

  • Runaway Car

Chapter 8

Chapter 8 of Dispatch is where things start to get challenging. Pay close attention to the “Hack for Flambae” and “Lockdown” hacks, as they’ll appear automatically while The Southlands are burning. You might need to restart the chapter to complete the hacks for Coupe, Waterboy, Sonar, and/or Phenomaman, though it’s not certain. Be aware that this can be tricky. Make sure to attempt all the hacks and keep a record of your progress. I managed to complete them all on my fourth playthrough, and it seems likely that completing them within a single save file is possible, but may require some luck.

The last hack you need to complete is “Defeat Mindfcker.” Keep two things in mind: First, this hack is easy to miss if you finish the Sonar/Coupe missions too quickly. Make sure you advance the story and finish all phone calls until this hack appears, but don’t start the “Give Them All You Got” mission just yet – for me, it showed up right after Blonde Blazer entered the battle. Secondly, completing “Defeat Mindfcker” is absolutely essential to unlock the Platinum trophy, even if you already finished any other hacks you might have skipped. It seems the trophy is specifically triggered by completing this hack, not just by finishing all hacks in general, but you still need to complete all previous hacks before it will become available.

  • Hack for Flambae
  • Lockdown
  • Coupe OR Waterboy OR Sonar OR Phenomaman
  • Defeat Mindf*cker.

Earning the platinum trophy in Dispatch puts you in a very exclusive club – only 1.3% of players have done it! You likely struggled with a particularly difficult hidden mission or the infamous “Mindfcker” challenge. If you did* beat Sonar/Coupe quickly, feel free to boast – you’ve earned it! We don’t have much else to offer, but remember, it’s all about SDN and protecting the southlands.
