Sony and Honda’s PS Remote Play Integrated Car Arrives in 2026

Sony Honda Mobility revealed that its Afeela vehicle will be the first to offer PS Remote Play, bringing PlayStation gaming on the go to drivers in California starting next year.

Cars are increasingly offering gaming features. We’ve already seen Xbox Cloud Gaming become available in some connected vehicles through a collaboration with LG, and now Sony Honda Mobility’s first car will include PlayStation’s remote play functionality starting next year.

Remotely Use Your PS5 or PS4 through Afeela’s Infotainment System

Sony Honda Mobility announced that the Afeela vehicle will start being delivered in California in 2026. It will be the first car to offer PS Remote Play, letting drivers play their PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games through the car’s entertainment system. Unlike cloud gaming, this feature allows gameplay directly from a user’s home console, displayed on the car’s screen and played through its high-quality audio system. Here’s what Izumi Kawanishi, Representative Director, President, and COO of Sony Honda Mobility Inc., shared about it.

PS Remote Play perfectly reflects AFEELA’s goal of making travel more enjoyable and engaging. By letting you stream PlayStation games, we’re taking in-car entertainment to a whole new level, turning commutes and journeys into truly immersive experiences.

The blog post also states that you’ll need a broadband internet connection of at least 5 Mbps to play, and a more stable 15 Mbps connection is recommended for the best experience with PS Remote Play. You’ll also need to own either a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 4 to use the Remote Play feature.

Okay, so it looks like Sony and Tencent have quietly settled their legal battle, which means the game Light of Motiram has been pulled from most digital stores. That’s a bummer! And on top of that, Loongforce is claiming Sony didn’t handle the China Hero Project very well. But hey, something kinda cool – Sony and Honda are working on a car with PlayStation’s Remote Play built in! It’s supposed to come out in 2026. What do you guys think about all of this?
