Xbox Wrapped Isn’t Coming Because of Budget Constraints

Every year around now, people who use a lot of online services like Spotify, PlayStation, LinkedIn, and YouTube get a fun summary of their activity. These platforms create personalized ‘Wrapped’ presentations that highlight your usage and give you a look back at your year.

Unlike other gaming platforms, Xbox won’t be releasing its annual ‘Wrapped’ summary this year. Reports suggest this is because Microsoft is prioritizing other marketing efforts.

No Xbox Wrapped, Unfortunately

This year saw a lot of exciting announcements from all over the gaming industry. Companies like PlayStation, Steam, Discord, and Nintendo all shared summaries of what to expect in gaming for 2025. There was a huge amount of information for players to check out, but it’s mostly just for fun and a little friendly competition.

According to a new report from Windows Central, Xbox isn’t holding its usual year-end celebration this year. The reason? They have a lot of major plans scheduled for next year and don’t want to stretch their marketing budget too thin.

Here’s the snippet from Jez Corden:

I’m hearing that Xbox isn’t planning its usual “Wrapped” year-in-review experience this year, which isn’t surprising given it’s already December 18th.

Instead of focusing on things like the yearly “Xbox Wrapped” summaries, Xbox is using that money to celebrate big achievements for the Xbox brand, its games, and related franchises.

Xbox recently announced that 2026 will be a big year for the company, marking 25 years since its launch. Bethesda, a company owned by Xbox, will also celebrate its 40th anniversary that year.

If you were hoping Xbox would release its year-end ‘Wrapped’ summary later than other platforms, unfortunately, that won’t be happening.
