Say Goodbye To Elbaf’s Best Character That Oda Just Killed Off

This article contains major spoilers for the One Piece manga.

The One Piece manga began its Elbaf arc over a year ago, and it’s been a thrilling experience for fans ever since. Creator Eiichiro Oda has been delivering consistently amazing chapters, and the recent story developments have really captivated readers.

Currently, the story is diving deep into a massive flashback during the Elbaf arc. This flashback spans a hundred years, revealing the events of the God Valley Incident and everything that happened before Harald’s death.

We recently saw Rocks D. Xebec die in a flashback, but he won’t be the only important character to meet their end. Just recently, the creator of the series, Oda, killed off Ida, who was King Harald’s first love and a huge influence on how he sees the world. It’s now confirmed she died from poisoning. And sadly, Ida won’t be the last – Oda is also going to reveal what really happened to Harald in the next few chapters.

Ida Officially Dies In One Piece Chapter 1168

  • Ida Was Poisoned By The Vodka Kingdom
  • Harald Failed Ida

One Piece is known for its emotional moments and characters who meet tragic ends, and the current arc focusing on Elbaf is proving to be no different.

Chapter 1168 of the One Piece manga revealed the death of Ida, a character who played a significant role in the current flashback storyline and was very popular with fans. Ida was first introduced as part of a circus and later developed a romantic relationship with Harald, the King of Elbaf.

Ida was Harald’s first love, and they shared a son named Hajrudin. However, because of the old-fashioned laws of Elbaf, they couldn’t get married. Harald later married Estrid, a Giant from a powerful family. Estrid became Queen of Elbaf and had Harald’s second son, Loki.

Estrid wasn’t a loving mother and ultimately left Loki, passing away shortly after. Ida stepped in and became a mother figure to him, offering him the kindness and guidance he needed.

Sadly, Ida was poisoned by the people of Brewer’s Village, Estrid’s hometown. They didn’t want Ida to become queen of Elbaf after Estrid died, and so they used deceitful methods to stop her.

Everyone was hoping Ida would recover, but sadly, the poison proved fatal. Her death was a terrible loss, and her sons, Loki and Hajrudin, are heartbroken.

Ida’s death was a major moment in this flashback, but it wasn’t the only significant loss. Shortly before that, Oda revealed the death of Rocks D. Xebec, an event that dramatically altered the world of One Piece.

Rocks D. Xebec’s death is considered one of the most heartbreaking moments in One Piece. Unlike many characters who die peacefully with loved ones nearby, Xebec met a miserable end, dying while crying and surrounded by the World Government.

Ida’s Death Will Very Soon Be Followed by Harald’s

The One Piece flashback has already shown the deaths of Ida and Rocks D. Xebec, but another significant character is also going to die: King Harald of Elbaf.

Most fans are aware that Harald won’t survive much longer, but the specifics of his death remain a mystery. He made a deal with Imu, known as the Deep Sea Pact, which resulted in him becoming Imu’s slave. While many believe Loki ultimately killed him, there’s likely more to the story. Characters like Shanks could be connected, and fans are eagerly anticipating Oda revealing the full truth.

Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, One Piece, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure, the One Piece. The story is currently in its final arc. A new chapter, number 1169, will be released in this week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on December 21, 2025. In Japan, it will become available at midnight on Monday (11:00 AM EST / 8:00 AM PT). Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app, which directly supports the author.
