In a twist that would make even the most hardened cryptocurrency observer raise an eyebrow, the UNI token decided to embark on a three-day joyride upwards, reaching heights not seen since November. Meanwhile, the Unification vote kicked off, and, much like a democracy run by cats, the outcome was both predictable and slightly chaotic.
- UNI token price went up. Again. And again. And again. 🚀
- Most of the community, in a rare moment of agreement, voted overwhelmingly for the Unification proposal. 🗳️
- 100 million UNI tokens were slated for incineration, because apparently, burning stuff solves everything. 🔥
Uniswap’s UNI token soared to a dazzling $6.35, marking a 32% increase from its low point this month. This little jaunt propelled its market capitalization to a whopping $5.7 billion, a figure that would make even Scrooge McDuck consider diversifying into crypto.
The UNI token’s surge coincided with the start of the Unification vote, where users-much like a crowd cheering for free pizza-voted overwhelmingly in favor. At press time, 34.1 million UNI tokens had voted “yes,” while a paltry 740 voted “no.” So, unless someone shows up with a truckload of “no” votes, it’s safe to assume the proposal will pass.
The Unification vote has some pretty hefty implications for the network, the most notable being the burning of 100 million tokens. These tokens, sourced from the treasury, represent the approximate number that would have been incinerated if the feature had existed since the dawn of Uniswap. Because apparently, hindsight is 20/20, even in crypto.
But wait, there’s more! 🎉 The Unification vote will also pave the way for future token burns, as most of the network fees will be set ablaze. Additionally, it will introduce aggregation hooks, transforming Uniswap v4 into an on-chain vote aggregator that collects fees on external liquidity. Because nothing says “financial innovation” like turning your platform into a fee-collecting Swiss Army knife.
The upcoming token burns come as the supply of UNI tokens in exchanges has been on a downward trend. Currently, there are 664.39 million UNI tokens in exchanges, down from 683 million last month. Falling tokens in exchanges? That’s a clear sign that investors are buying their tokens-or possibly hoarding them like digital dragons.
Meanwhile, whales have been busy increasing their token holdings, moving from this month’s low of 8.22 million to 8.1 million today. Because when you’re a whale, every token counts. 🐋
However, much like the rest of the crypto world, Uniswap’s trading volume has taken a nosedive in recent days, thanks to the crypto market crash. Last month, it handled $79 billion in volume, a sharp drop from the year-to-date high of $125 billion. Because even in crypto, what goes up must come down-unless it’s burned, apparently.
UNI Price Technical Analysis 📊

The daily timeframe chart reveals that the UNI token hit rock bottom at $4.8720 on Dec. 18, only to bounce back to $6.330. It formed a double-bottom pattern with a neckline at $10.2, because nothing says “technical analysis” like cryptic shapes and lines.
The rebound also followed the formation of a falling wedge pattern, a common bullish divergence signal that sounds more like a pastry than a financial indicator. The token has also moved to the Major S/R pivot point of the Murrey Math Lines tool, because why use one complicated tool when you can use two?
The token has moved above the 50-day Exponential Moving Average, while the Relative Strength Index has climbed to 60, up from this month’s low of 34. All signs point to the token continuing its upward trajectory, with bulls eyeing the strong pivot reverse point at $7.8125. Because in crypto, bulls always have the last laugh-until the bears show up. 🐻
