Like every year, LEGO enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the next wave of sets. We have a glimpse of some LEGO releases planned for 2026, but many details are still unknown, and a few exciting sets have only been hinted at so far.
Next year is shaping up to be exciting for LEGO fans, especially gamers! While we can expect even more gaming-related LEGO sets in 2026, there are already three major releases on the horizon that gamers will want to check out.
LEGO Has Big Plans for Zelda Fans in 2026
LEGO released a fantastic Legend of Zelda set in 2024 – a detailed Deku Tree display that could be built to look like either the version from Breath of the Wild or Ocarina of Time. Another Zelda LEGO set is currently in development, expected to launch in 2026. Although we’ve only gotten a brief preview, fans are already very enthusiastic about it.
The short preview shows Link, looking like he’s from Ocarina of Time, with Zelda seemingly watching in the distance as a dark shape approaches. Most fans believe this new set will be based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is considered one of the most beloved games in the series, but the exact contents of the set are still unknown.
With a mysterious shadowy figure appearing alongside Link in promotional images, many LEGO fans believe the upcoming Zelda set will include Ganondorf, possibly in his monstrous form from Ocarina of Time. While details like the set’s size, cost, and release date are still unknown, many are hoping it will be more affordable than the $299 Deku Tree set.
Based on the pattern of LEGO and Nintendo working together, we can expect to learn more about the Zelda LEGO set in March or April, with the actual set likely becoming available in the summer. LEGO usually spreads out the release of sets based on video games over several months to create excitement, just like they did with the LEGO Game Boy earlier this year.
LEGO’s Biggest Gaming Partnership Kicks Off
Following LEGO’s recent collaboration with Zelda, the company is preparing to release a major partnership with Pokemon next year. While details are still emerging through leaks and rumors, the initial release appears to include both a budget-friendly and a premium set.
The latest rumors suggest the LEGO Pokémon sets will focus on building iconic Pokémon, with Pikachu and Charizard being the most likely choices. Interestingly, both sets are reportedly designed for builders aged 18 and up, hinting at more detailed and challenging models. While the rumored price of $199 for the Charizard set suggests a complex build, the 18+ age recommendation is still unexpected.
There’s talk of a really large LEGO Pokémon set coming soon – it’s expected to be quite expensive, potentially one of the priciest LEGO gaming sets ever released. This set is likely to be very popular, and despite its high price, we anticipate it will sell quickly.
Just like LEGO’s successful collaboration with Mario, they’re probably planning a wide range of Pokémon sets, from small builds to larger, more complex ones. It’s unknown if these Pokémon sets will have interactive features like the Mario sets – which use an app and coin collecting – but it wouldn’t be surprising if they offered more than just a traditional building experience.
LEGO Has Something Exciting for Gamers Too
Gamers have something to look forward to in 2026, even if they’re not LEGO fans! LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the newest game from TT Games, the creators of Star Wars: Legacy of the Skywalker. Like that previous title, it will feature updated gameplay with a new camera angle, a fresh art style, and expansive open worlds to discover.
Traveller’s Tales is aiming to cover the entire history of Batman, drawing from different actors like Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, and Robert Pattinson. With Rocksteady Games pausing their Batman series, this new game feels like the closest experience we’ll get to the popular Arkham games, which is great news. While LEGO games are often seen as for younger players, TT Games consistently delivers high-quality titles.
LEGO games, like those based on Star Wars and Harry Potter, are known for being easy to pick up and enjoy, and the LEGO Batman series is a standout. For fans already familiar with LEGO games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a highly anticipated release expected in 2026.
LEGO has some promising games planned for 2026, and we can expect even more announcements next year. Just like the surprise LEGO Game Boy reveal in January, LEGO is likely to heavily feature its partnership with Pokemon in upcoming releases. As it stands, there are at least three things gamers can look forward to from LEGO in the coming year.
