A new year is here, and the 2026 season of isekai anime really needs to impress. As usual, we can expect several shows where characters are magically transported to fantastical worlds, often gaining incredible powers, wealth, and romantic interests. While some might find themselves in harsh, unforgiving environments, most isekai stories focus on wish fulfillment and characters becoming extraordinarily powerful.

While sequels often steal the show, new isekai anime are consistently released and we usually see a few good ones with powerful main characters or stories focusing on villainesses. Isekai tends to focus on releasing a lot of content, sometimes at the expense of quality, but even less polished shows can be really fun. So, let’s take a look at all the isekai anime scheduled to come out in 2026.

Labyrinth (Movie)

The story, based on Meikyuu no Shiori, is really interesting – it’s about a girl who somehow gets trapped inside a different version of her world, all within her smartphone. It’s mostly science fiction, but I think it has the potential to be pretty scary too.

This makes it tough for any new isekai shows launching in 2026 to stand out, and we might see fewer of them being made. Currently, only The Strongest Job is Apparently Not a Hero or a Sage, but an Appraiser is confirmed for April. It follows a familiar formula: the main character, Hibiki, is transported to a fantasy world and discovers his seemingly ordinary skill is actually incredibly strong. And, like many isekai heroes before him, his first friend is an elf.

New 2026 Isekai Anime With No Confirmed Season

Exiled Heavy Knight, Rayearth, & More

Several anime series featuring characters transported to another world (known as isekai) are scheduled to premiere in 2026, though exact release dates haven’t been announced yet. A remake of the popular ’90s anime Magic Knight Rayearth is particularly exciting for fans. Meanwhile, The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System is gaining notoriety, but unfortunately, it’s mostly for negative reasons – a common occurrence with shows from the studio GoHands.

2026 Isekai Anime Sequels

Re:Zero, Saga of Tanya, Slime, & More

While 2026 promises some exciting new isekai anime, most of the attention will likely focus on continuing series. We can expect new seasons of popular shows like Re:Zero, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura), Mushoku Tensei, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Farming Life in Another World in 2026.
