Studio Bones Has Already Lined Up The Perfect My Hero Academia Replacement

My Hero Academia quickly became a worldwide hit, starting in Japan. While the original manga was fantastic, the anime adaptation played a huge role in making the series as popular as it is today.

I watched as the My Hero Academia anime began back in 2016, and just recently finished in 2025. For nearly a decade, Studio Bones animated the series, and it really felt like their most important new project. It seemed like a huge undertaking for them, and many fans agreed.

Now that My Hero Academia has finished, Studio Bones is looking for its next big success, and Gachiakuta could be it. This new series launched this year with several projects already planned. While My Hero Academia is complete, Studio Bones still has more content in development for that franchise as well.

Gachiakuta Is Studio Bones’s New Big Hit To Replace MHA

  • Studio Bones Will Now Rely On The Big Hit Gachiakuta

Season 8 of My Hero Academia was a huge hit with fans, delivering exceptionally high quality throughout. Many believe it’s the best anime of the year, and not just because of its strong finale. The animation, direction, and overall production by Studio Bones were outstanding, exceeding all expectations. In fact, every episode of the season received a score of 9/10 or higher.

I realized something important when I was seventeen: people aren’t naturally the same. We all develop as individuals, and that’s actually what makes us connect with others. It’s because we’re all unique – in our thoughts and in who we are – that we seek out those we can relate to. That’s how I began to understand how society really works.

Now that the main My Hero Academia anime has finished, Studio Bones’ most popular series is no longer in production. Many fans think Gachiakuta is poised to become the studio’s next big hit and fill that void.

Gachiakuta Is A Rising New Shonen Series That Has Become An Immediate Sensation

Gachiakuta is a recently released anime series created by Studio Bones. It premiered on July 6, 2025, and new episodes are currently being released each week, with the first season nearing its end.

Gachiakuta is quickly becoming a favorite among anime fans. Based on the manga by Kei Urana, the story has captivated viewers with its compelling characters and plot. It centers around Rudo, a protagonist unlike typical shonen heroes, fueled solely by a desire for revenge. After a traumatic experience, he discovers hidden abilities and crucial tools. With intriguing characters, unexpected twists, and thrilling action, the series offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Even though the first season of Gachiakuta hasn’t finished airing, plans are already underway for more content. A video game and a stage play are both currently being created for the series.

Gachiakuta Season 2 Has Already Been Confirmed, Showing Special Treatment From Studio Bones

Gachiakuta Season 1 was a big hit. It quickly became popular in Japan and was one of Crunchyroll’s top series internationally that year.

The series quickly gained a large following, and fans will be happy to hear that a second season is already planned. Studio Bones has officially confirmed and approved “Gachiakuta Season 2,” which is fantastic news for everyone who enjoys the show.

Details like the exact release date are still a secret. While a new season isn’t expected until at least 2027, it could be pushed to 2028 depending on production and the number of episodes.

Studio Bones Is Still Not Done With My Hero Academia

Even though the main My Hero Academia anime has finished, and Bones Studio’s new anime, Gachiakuta, is gaining popularity, My Hero Academia isn’t being forgotten. In fact, even without new manga chapters, more animated content for My Hero Academia is still being produced.

At Jump Festa 2026, it was announced that My Hero Academia will have a special 12th episode in May 2026, called “More.” This episode will be based on the extra chapter written by Kohei Horikoshi, which is chapter 431 of the manga.

But the story doesn’t end with the main series! There’s also a sequel called My Hero Academia Vigilantes, which is animated by Studio Bones. The first season came out in 2025, and a second season is coming in 2026. It’s likely Studio Bones will produce one or two more seasons of the spin-off series.

It’s true, I do miss everything we’ve been through. But as long as I can continue to inspire people, I believe our journey proves we became true Heroes. And that’s a legacy we’ll carry forward, always striving to help others. — Izuku Midoriya, My Hero Academia Chapter 430

A My Hero Academia animated movie is highly likely. Although it hasn’t been officially announced, many fans expect one, and hints at Jump Festa 2026 suggest two more unrevealed projects are in the works for the series.

My Hero Academia Will Remain Studio Bones’s Most Iconic Series Ever

Even though Gachiakuta is now working with Studio Bones, it probably won’t become more popular overall than My Hero Academia. My Hero Academia is easily one of the most well-known anime series of all time, and its protagonist, Deku, is a major star in the Shonen anime world.

Okay, so Gachiakuta is amazing, but it’s still got a ways to go before it hits the popularity of a really massive hit. Honestly, the only other Studio Bones anime I think can even compare to My Hero Academia is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. And some people – me included! – genuinely believe that Brotherhood is the greatest anime ever made. It’s just on another level!

Overall, this series continues to be rated higher than My Hero Academia. While both shows are likely to be fan favorites for a long time, it’s still uncertain if Gachiakuta will have the same lasting impact.

My Hero Academia tells the story of a world where most people are born with superpowers called Quirks. It follows Deku’s journey to become the world’s greatest hero, inspired by his idol, All Might, in a society filled with both heroes and villains. The manga recently finished its run after 431 chapters, and you can read it all on Manga Plus. The final season of the anime is currently airing with 11 episodes, available to stream on Crunchyroll.
