PlayStation Plus members got a lot for their money in 2025, with the free games offered by Sony worth over $1,500. Although this is slightly less than in 2024, members actually received a few more free games overall in the last year.
While PS Plus offers many advantages, the free monthly games are a major draw, and the best part is they’re included with all subscription levels – Essential, Extra, and Premium. Sony usually provides around three free games each month, and you can keep playing them as long as you remain a subscriber. However, throughout 2025, Sony didn’t always stick to this usual pattern.
PS Plus Gave Away Over $1,500 Worth of Games in 2025
In 2025, PlayStation Plus members received 39 free games – one more than in 2024 – which averages out to about 3.25 games each month. This was boosted by particularly generous months in June, with the Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion and three other games, and December, which offered five free titles. These December games are still available to claim until early January. The total value of all the 2025 games, based on their regular prices, was $1,536.61 – a slight decrease of around 4% compared to the previous year.

This year, we’ve seen a significant decrease in the number of PlayStation 4 games offered through PS Plus. Last year, almost 87% of the monthly free games for PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium members were available on the PS4. This year, that number has fallen to just over 51%. Sony has announced it will continue to focus less on PS4 games in the future, with further changes planned for January 2026.
