Following a significant security breach, Ubisoft has taken Rainbow Six Siege servers offline and closed its online store. The hack allowed some players to access exclusive skins intended for developers, as well as large amounts of in-game currency, and unfortunately, some accounts were banned as a result.
As a huge Rainbow Six Siege fan, I was shocked to hear about the hacking situation this morning! It’s been amazing to see the game thrive with all the esports events and constant updates. But apparently, hackers managed to ban players and spam servers with weird messages – even song lyrics and controversial stuff. Some people even got super rare skins and tons of in-game money, like, thousands of dollars worth! Ubisoft finally addressed it and had to shut down the servers temporarily, which is a bummer, but hopefully they’ll get everything sorted out quickly so we can all get back to playing.

After players noticed something was wrong, Ubisoft began looking into the issue. An hour later, they shut down the servers for Rainbow Six Siege and the online store. Many fans pointed out that Ubisoft didn’t actually confirm a hack had occurred, which downplayed the seriousness of the problem. It’s currently unknown how long the servers will be down or who was behind it.
Ubisoft is dealing with a significant hack in Rainbow Six Siege. Players are receiving large amounts of in-game currency and valuable items, which are typically purchased. While hacks aren’t frequent in gaming, this one is particularly damaging, especially since it happened during the holiday break when many people have time to play. Though unfortunate, discovering the issue now might be a good thing, as the full impact on players is still unknown.
