How to Get All Curse Fragments (Withering Heights) in RuneScape Dragonwilds

The new RuneScape Dragonwilds Fellhollow expansion features a main quest, Withering Heights, where players must explore three new areas and collect Curse Fragments. These fragments are essential for facing the expansion’s boss, Imaru the Soul-Devourer. This guide details the locations of all three Curse Fragments and how to complete the Withering Heights quest in Fellhollow.

How to Get the Curse Fragment Grief from Emberwood in RuneScape Dragonwilds (Withering Heights)

To start the Withering Heights quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you’ll need to find the first Curse Fragment in Emberwood Village. But you can’t just walk right in – an energy barrier is blocking the way. You’ll need to find and activate four shrines located around the area to lower the barrier and gain access to the village.

To activate all four shrines in Emberwood, just follow the locations shown on the map. Once they’re all activated, the barrier will lift, allowing you to get the Curse Fragment (Grief) from the Emberwood village.

How to Get the Curse Fragment Despair from Silverthorn Keep in RuneScape Dragonwilds (Withering Heights)

To get the second piece of the Withering Heights quest’s Curse Fragment (Despair) in RuneScape Dragonwilds Fellhollow, players need to climb the stairs leading up to Silverthorn Keep. You can start climbing from the spot shown on the map.

Don’t forget to grab some Air Runes before you go – you’ll be relying on the Windstep ability quite a bit during your travels.

When you reach the beginning of the path, you’ll see a set of crumbling steps winding upwards towards Silverthorn Keep, the castle in the distance. Be careful with your Windstep jumps – mistiming them could lead to a fatal fall.

After overcoming enemies and obstacles, you’ll reach the top and encounter a Green Dragon mini-boss. You can choose to battle the dragon, or simply run around it to collect the Cruse Fragment located behind it.

So, whether I manage to take down that dragon or just run away super fast, I’ll still be able to snag the second Curse Fragment, Despair, that’s hidden behind it. Pretty cool!

How to Get the Curse Fragment Rage from Lake of Lost Souls in RuneScape Dragonwilds (Withering Heights)

To find the third Curse Fragment for the Withering Heights quest in RuneScape Dragonwilds Fellhollow, go further into the Lake of Lost Souls and head towards the red waterfall in the northwest. Be careful not to wade into the water, as it causes Wither Rot to build up.

After you go through the waterfall, you’ll find a secret cave with a doorway leading to one of the new Dragonkin Vaults added in the Fellhollow update. Before you go in, it’s important to put a Lodestone in front of the Vault. This will let you respawn at the entrance if you happen to die inside.

Okay, so once you get inside, just stick to the path – it twists and turns a bit. Eventually, you’ll hit a fork in the road with a big boulder right in the middle. You need to go left there, but be careful! Dragon Wolves are roaming around that area, so keep your eyes peeled.

To get across the gap, try touching the Wither Rot on the ground – this will give you a status effect called Soul Rift, but it will also create a soul bridge you can walk across. After you’ve crossed, just interact with the fountain to get rid of the status effect.

Continue along the path until you reach an opening on the right. This leads to a corridor filled with fire and spear traps, so proceed cautiously. If you make it through, you’ll find yourself in a large, dark room containing a Spectral Door that isn’t currently active.

You’ll need to get the Soul Rift status again by stepping in the Wither Rot water. After you have it, the Spectral Door will open and you can use it.

Go through the Spectral Door to enter the shadow realm, then exit on the other side. Once you’re back, you can heal the Soul Rift status by interacting with the fountain.

The next part can be challenging because if you fall, you’ll have to begin the Dragonkin Vault all over again.

Coming up next, you’ll need to jump and climb across platforms. Your goal is to reach the higher platform covered in Wither Rot. Once you’re up there, use your ability to close the Soul Rift and then carefully cross the Spectral Bridge to the other side.

You’ll encounter a powerful orc mini-boss named Zogre in this area. Defeat him to get the final Curse Fragment.

He attacks with a spin, a belly flop that hits an area, and by throwing rocks. While these attacks aren’t hard to dodge, be careful of Withered Souls that will come after you as your Soul Rift builds up.

After defeating Zogre, you’ll get the last Curse Fragment (Rage). Once you have all three fragments, you’ll need to get ready for a challenging boss fight against Imaru, the Soul-Devourer, in Hope’s Fall Rise within RuneScape’s Dragonwilds Fellhollow. To prepare, it’s a good idea to gather materials and equip your character with the best Tier 5 gear and tools.

You’ll finish the main questline for Fellhollow, called Withering Heights, in RuneScape Dragonwilds, once you defeat Imaru.
