One Piece Confirms A New Character With Two Devil Fruits

This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

In the world of One Piece, Devil Fruits are the main source of special powers. These mysterious fruits give people incredible abilities, and they’ve become even more central to the story, with the latest arc showcasing even more powerful ones. There are three main types of Devil Fruits: Paramecia, which grant the user powers over various objects and materials; Zoan, which allow transformation into animals; and Logia, which let the user transform into and control natural elements.

Devil Fruits are incredibly powerful in the world of One Piece. That’s why a person can only have the power of one – if someone tries to consume more than one, the powers inside their body will clash, ultimately causing them to explode. While Blackbeard is the only known character who has successfully eaten two Devil Fruits – the method of how he did it remains a mystery – the creator, Oda, has now introduced another character with this rare ability: Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.

Blackbeard Was The First Character With Two Devil Fruit Powers

  • Blackbeard Killed Thatch For Yami Yami no Mi
  • He Attacked Whitebeard For Gura Gura no Mi

I was really surprised to learn that Blackbeard was the first person in the One Piece world to eat two Devil Fruits, and the way he did it was pretty shocking. We first found out about his first fruit during his fight with Ace. It turned out he’d gotten the Yami Yami No Mi after killing Thatch, one of Whitebeard’s top commanders. This fruit gave him the amazing ability to control darkness and even gravity itself!

After sneaking into Marineford, Blackbeard acquired Whitebeard’s abilities. Following Whitebeard’s death, he stole his Devil Fruit, the Gura Gura no Mi, which is considered the most powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. This fruit allowed Blackbeard to create earthquakes on land, sea, and in the air. By consuming two Devil Fruits, Blackbeard’s power increased dramatically, making him an exceptionally dangerous pirate.

Although Blackbeard is famous for eating two Devil Fruits, Loki, also known as the Accursed Prince, can now use abilities from two as well. When Loki first appeared, his powers were a mystery, but it’s now confirmed he controls both Ragnir and a legendary Devil Fruit from Elbaf.

  • Loki Has Ragnir — A Weapon With A Devil Fruit
  • He Had Also Eaten A Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit Himself

Man, Loki is seriously powerful! He’s the son of King Harald of Elbaf, which already means he’s got conqueror’s blood running through his veins. But it gets even cooler – he’s also got Ancient Giant blood! That makes him way stronger than a typical giant. He was born with incredible abilities, but somehow managed to become even more powerful as he grew up. It’s amazing!

I am the Sun God, a figure from the legends of this land. Mortal, you must not address me unless I allow it. I believe I am the strongest being in the Lands. This is Warland, the Kingdom of Violence belonging to Elbaf—once the most formidable, war-focused nation on Earth. And I, Loki, am the Sun God destined to bring about the world’s end!

Loki’s first major ability is wielding Ragnir, the incredibly powerful hammer from Elbaf, which was previously thought to be unliftable. He also gained the power of a legendary Devil Fruit from Elbaf, and these two abilities combined form the basis of Loki’s powers.

Loki’s Weapon Ragnir Has A Devil Fruit Ability

Loki’s hammer, Ragnir, has a secret power: it’s a Devil Fruit! Fans previously believed Ragnir was just a regular hammer, but chapter 1170 of One Piece revealed its true nature. Ragnir can actually transform into a squirrel, and Loki is now able to utilize this unique ability however he chooses.

Loki’s weapon, Ragnir, shares a striking similarity with Shamrock’s sword. Like Shamrock, who can change his blade into the form of Cerberus, Loki can transform Ragnir into Ratatoskr. Ragnir is incredibly strong – easily capable of defeating most characters in the world of One Piece.

Loki Ate Elbaf’s Legendary Devil Fruit

Loki’s primary Devil Fruit power comes from a legendary treasure found in Elbaf. This fruit had been passed down through generations in Elbaf, but no one could consume it until Loki. Ragnir fiercely protected it, and even Harald, a pirate comparable to Rocks, had failed to eat it previously. Loki was the first to succeed, and the fruit granted him the strength to defeat even Harald in battle.

You are now an immortal Knight, serving Mu. Your task is to create an Abyss on Elbaf – this will be your commitment to us. Once you’ve finished this final duty, your wish will be fulfilled. As a result, Elbaf will be accepted as a member nation of the World Government. – Saint Imu Nerona to Harald

Currently, we don’t know the exact nature of this Devil Fruit, but it’s definitely a Mythical Zoan with incredible power – enough to defeat anyone. Loki is as strong as the most legendary figures in the One Piece world, like Harald, Rocks, Roger, and Garp. Combining his power, Ragnir, with the powerful Devil Fruit from Elbaf, Loki possesses two exceptionally strong abilities.

Shamrock Figarland Could Also Have Two Devil Fruit Abilities

It looks like the author, Oda, is introducing a new idea: incredibly strong characters who can wield the powers of multiple Devil Fruits. Loki is the first we’ve seen with this ability, but Shamrock might be another. Fans have already witnessed Shamrock fighting with his sword, Cerberus, which seems to have special powers. Either Imu has magically enhanced the sword, or it’s been given a Devil Fruit that lets it transform into a fully awakened Cerberus.

It’s possible Shamrock also has a Devil Fruit power. So far, every Holy Knight we’ve seen has demonstrated some kind of ability linked to Devil Fruits. This means Shamrock could have one too, and like Loki, he might even combine a Devil Fruit power with a Devil Fruit weapon, making him incredibly strong.

It won’t be long before fighters with two Devil Fruit powers become commonplace at the highest levels of One Piece, and Eiichiro Oda will undoubtedly deliver a thrilling story as things progress.

Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, One Piece, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they search for the legendary treasure, the One Piece. The story is currently in its final arc. A new chapter, number 1170, will be released this week in Weekly Shonen Jump on January 4, 2026. In Japan, it will be available at midnight on Monday, which is 11:00 AM Eastern Time and 8:00 AM Pacific Time. Fans can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump app, which directly supports the author.
